Sigel & Trudeau: Separated at Birth

Complainers

As far as I'm concerned, it's Trudeau's money and he can do whatever he wants with it. While he's spending it, I believe he's helping this beleaguered sport out. Instead of throwing insults at him, I think we should laud him for his benevolence.

Well Rick, I new it wouldn't take long for some to complain, get a life I say to them, isn't something better than nothing, guess not to those whom always want it the Burger King way.

Mike Tyson

Not if Charlie was pumping millions of dollars into the tournaments. Besides, it's not like Trudeau is saying that only Mike can win. Sure, he's giving Mike preferential treatment, but all the other players also have a chance to win first place. Like I said earlier, I think this event is just an attention grabber. I'm sure when the real tour starts Mike will not get the same treatment.

Look at what people pay to see him lose now.

Trudeau may have grown up watching Mike play and loves the guys game. It is his money let the guy support the game of pool for a little while. Its all most like the Bengals winning streak. I'm on the bandwagon.

TAP TAP TAP
You see NONE of the PLAYERS *****, why should anyone else?
BLUD

I wouldn't mind if Mike was guaranteed to win every tournament. That means the other IPT players would be just playing for 2nd place but for there $199 entry fee they would be playing a couple tournaments for $800,000 one for $1,700,000 and another one for $2,500,000. It looks to me that Kevin and Mike are also helping out a lot of the older players that spent most of there lives struggling on the road playing the game that we all love. I think that's great that a lot of the guys that have been broke all those years are getting a little payback. I have a friend that won the British Open in golf and now is a multi millionare. I know Nick Varner is an 8 x World Champion and has won over a hundred tournaments and still works his but off every day to make a living. It will be nice to see these guys make a big payday so they can enjoy there lives without the worry or struggle to make a living.

I feel very lucky to have been chosen in the IPT's 150 but if I didn't, I still would do anything I can to help Kevin, Mike and the IPT out to make it successful. I've been trying to help my pool playing friends out for a long time and Kevin has come up with a tour that can do it. I feel we have one chance to make this work becasue Kevin's going to get the big sponsors to final look our way. If it works, it will be the payday we were looking for in our sport, if it doesn't, who knows when we will have an oppertunity like this again. We need to forget about things that happened in Kevin's past or if Mike is in the finals of every tournament and all pull together and support Kevin and the IPT.

Oh goodness, DM, you just want me all to yourself.

I don't need someone to agree with my every opinion. Besides, he can spank me later.

Earl IS bad. Notice that he only straightened himself out at the OPEN when the only people capable of spanking him showed up at the tournament and hawked his every move.

Then he acted like an angel, and performed top shelf.

Mike has another problem all together.
EGOMANIA!

Pool is an ego based sport.
Maybe that's why he's done so well. He honestly believes that he is the greatest. Not a bad attitude to have, don't you think?

The problem is when he starts to talk, and his confidence escapes his mouth, when we don't want to hear it.
So if he ever starts to blab about how great he is...you can stop him in his tracks.

Just ask how much he made from ACCUSTATS selling record amounts of his straight pool match with J.S. because everyone wanted to see when he snapped his shaft in half after he scratched during a run.

He might actually stop talking for a whole 10 minutes after you say that, before he continues his spiel.

For those complaining about him getting special treatment, just look at it like this. Once he gets knocked off, he might never get back, unless every IPT season starts with him playing a world championship match with a TOMATO CAN, so he can have at least a 2 tournament payday.

Of course...as long as you continue to have check writing privileges on his accounts!

Don't be silly... they'd be out of state!

This may come as a surprise to you, DM, me being a woman and all, but I support myself.

So when Efren, Archer, Feijen, etc. Beat up on Sigel in the finals will they take over the "king of the hill" title and be guaranteed an automatic spot in the finals of the next IPT event?

One difference that is already evident is that this new tour may emphasize SHOW BIZ on a level not seen before. With the format of these first two events and the diversity in the tour players I see them demonstrating that a premium is being placed on entertainment value for the spectators as opposed to who is the best this week at a particular game. IPT has already shown readiness to experiment with alternative tournament formats and with all the top flight women on this tour I bet a mixed doubles tournament with this caliber of players would really draw interest from far beyond normal group of pool spectators. The way this tour is marketing the product may seem a bit unorthodox at first but they are taking a huge swing at something and maybe a different angle is just what is needed. You know what they say about doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.

Pool needs to have more SHOW BIZ and I think it is getting a shot of it
A little WWF wouldn’t hurt anything. They know how to make a show

LMAO...yeh, but certainly not in the style that you'd like to be supported from someone with a lot more moolah!! I predict an easy sell out.

I really think we should all be supporting Mr Trudeau right now instead of trying to second guess him before the tournament even starts.

Hey, like Larry Bird said- It ain't braggin if you can do it. Mike Sigel might have a big ego, but he's also one of the greatest pool players who ever lived. So I can excuse what might seem to be excessive ego on his part. As far as him being King of the Hill. There are 150 players in this group. If one of them can beat him in this tournament, he won't be King of the Hill anymore. Everyone talks about Mike being over the hill. Well then, he shouldn't be hard to dethrone.
