Let me start with this cue is not for sale, however, An uncle of mine and Jerry Franklin were friends, unfortunately niether is still living, anyways through this relationship and my having made a few trips to Jerry's shop I asked him to sign the cue he was building for me and he did. Under the wrap my cue says Thank You Colby Jerry Franklin. I later asked Laurie how many that he had signed she said maybe one other but she was fairly sure that he had not signed any others. My intentions is to get some speculation as to the value of this cue might be, other then the signature it is a typical 3 veneer maccassar ebony point in Cocobolo Cue with A & B rings. Additionally I have not been in contact with anyone at SW in years and don't have their contact info anymore can someone PM me with a contact method to get ahold of them so I can send this cue in for SOA prior to it going to the cue safe.

If the signature isn't visible, I really doubt it would make much difference. In the pool world it may not matter, but in the world of autograph collecting it would mean nothing if it were not visible. The value would be in the cue itself and not the signature.

if the signature is visible on the cue surface then i think it will be more valuable!!

It's under the wrap. My Dishaw has my name under the wrap. Dan suggested I put it there in case of theft when he rewrapped it.

Any pics of your SW? Always love to see pictures of a SW especially a JF SW

I am on the road out of state right now when I get back home I'll post some pics I have another SW that is pre pin date in the cue safe that I will be visiting soon and I'll try to remember and get some pics of the old SW, the Gus Szamboti and a few other interesting cues that my father and I have between us. Actually the safe is in Oklahoma, I'll be visiting my parents there for the first week in Dec. (Skiatook) if schedules allow you can see the SW I carry in person.

A picture of the cue when I get time I'll post some others

I have been playing with this cue for 14-15 years it has been in more bars then I care to mention and I have never hesitated to use it for whatever I thought I needed and it has taken some dings. The finish and overall construction and playability that made SW famous was put to the test in this old cue and she never failed. Somewhere along the way it was dubbed the "Cowboy" and I have never had a regret about spending the money on it. They are fine cues by any standard.
