Siming Chen vs Donny Mills

I am using Mac and Firefox. I did not re-login but paused the stream last night. It came back on by itself... working perfectly. The reduced quality is noticeable but still very good.

Siming takes early lead 3-1. She looks like she is in hurry to get this over with.
She has a tournament to play in a few days :grin-square:

This PPV lets you view on multiple devices at same time which is great. unlike accustats which only allows 1 device

I really like the player's chairs. Decently up high and not too far away from the table to get a good view.

I wouldn't mind them for myself.

Ok. I like how people will disagree with the math based rating as if someone just made it up.

the ratings don't care what we think. It's just math and nothing else. Mike has run the numbers in several experiments using the same data and proved that a 780 is a 780 is a 780. And that a 780 does not equate to a 7, 8, 9, A, A+ AAA+++ or any other rating method because of the fact that math is used to derive the 780 rating and not someone's opinion.

If her name was Steve then imo no one would be questioning her rating. No one would be saying that Steve Chen couldn't hang with other 780 speed players.

However as I pointed out she's playing all her matches in pristine conditions so there is no variables or very few , 780 might be 780 but I'll take Ruslan's 780 everyday of the week from what I've seen here the other matches and hours of practice at Roy's

You made remarks about insinuating that I suck. Maybe I do.
I won’t make anymore posts is this thread since I’m stupid. Enjoy the match I can’t watch it.

Again, you are wrong. You beat the ghost - I don’t know any players that suck who beat the ghost.

You’re starting to get a glimpse of her higher speed. Would like to see her with 1 on the spot where she can string some racks together by making some balls on the break.

For those of you who don’t know the commentator Chip Klein, he is one of the best coaches for advanced players in the world.

Chen is one hell of a player. She just does not look like missing. Even when the ball is on the rail or she has to bridge over. Top notch fundamentals. Really impressed by her. Donny has a very tuff nut to crack. I would not bet on him from what I've seen.

Dolores Riordian (sp?) providing a good backdrop as Siming goes 5-1 singing "Linger"...

"I was wrong...", "Such a fool for you.......", and pertaining to the hanging 2 Donny missed.... "Did you have to let it linger?"

😎😁🤣😎

As Mike Page has said many times whatever a player has that makes their rating it is not necessarily the same as other players at that rating. So according to Mike if one player is great at banks and another is great at safes then it evens out in the end with the result being that both players perform equally well against their opponents such that the math spits out their rating with no regard to exactly what strengths/weaknesses that the player displays.

So yes, perhaps one 780 plays better on "slow" conditions and the other better on fast conditions. But the question would be how much better? 50 points better or 5 points better.

Donny takes 1
Chen 5-2 Donny breaking

The crowd seem to pity Donny since they clapped very hard when he won a rack
