Simonis Cloth on an economy pool table?

I have a generic 8 footer (slate) that I put 860 on and shimmed the pockets. Plays great.
As long as you can level the table I don't see why not. I have an "economy" table but the 860 helps the table play fairly well.
Totally. You'll never learn to play tournament speed if you don't play on tournament cloth.
I once lived in a small apartment, and all I had was a 2'x3' practice pad covered in Simonis with 1 pocket that sat on the kitchen table.
But I still drilled on it a couple hours a day, shooting straight shots at pocket speed.

Our community center has a Presidential Billiards 8-footer. It's a pretty generic home table. When I moved to the area the table had traditional green cloth that was probably original (15+years?) and played like shag carpet.
I convinced the BOD to recloth the table with 860HR in Tournament Blue. It plays great. At first the old-timers were surprised by the speed of the cloth but I was surprised how quickly everyone adjusted to it.
