Was wondering what the top guys consider to be the main culprit for stretch shadows with Simonis cloth? IE uneven stretch to much stretch, and what answer do you give to customer when they say what is that. I bet 90% of simonis jobs I see have the shadows, either bed cloth or cushions or both. Or is it simply inexperience. They do seem to fade with time.
Mike.

Some people say seeing them proves the cloth is tight and that may be, I can tell you from my expierience that you should try to avoid it on most residential customers because they will for sure notice it and think something is wrong with it even tho it is acceptable by many people. It can be installed without seeing them and still be tight enough so it doesnt loosen up over time.

When I first started installing Simonis they were everywhere, people would complain, I go back and fix it and then they call and say it loosened up. There is a happy medium somewhere, it's up to each installer to decide for themselves what works for them and thier customers.

I am far from one of the top guys but thats how I see it.

Yeah pretty much what I thought, put it on a bar-box for a friend told him not made for bar boxes and that there might be shadows, th they weren't bad especially with his lighting but of course had to hear about it, thanks for the input.

If you do a search. Glen covered this and taught the correct way. It is not easy untill you master it.

It all depends on where you place the staples in relation to where you stretch the cloth;)

I use Glens don't staple at stretch point method on rails to avoid dimpling on rails, works great. Was really meaning more the bed cloth shadows, if this has been covered how do you do the search?
Mike:confused:

The stretch shadows dissapear more on the bed cloth when you stretch in 2 directions as opposed to just one. Meaning when you stretch side to side, you also must stretch end to end just as much, that way you can try to avoid the pin point pull stretch at any one given spot where you are going to attach the cloth to the bed.

Thanks Glen, will have to give side to side then end to end a shot. Always done it the opposite way but never really had to worry about
worsted cloth before. Thanks again.

I've adopted Glens' side to corner pocket stretch technique.
He posted about this awhile back and it works well.

Dartman thanks for the input, ton of information in Glens posts will take a while to look through them. Seems to be well worth the time. Thanks again.
