SJM at the World 14.1 Event

14 more for Max. Run now 82, score now 147 - 128 Shane.

Good break ball ahead for Max.

and he got good results .......

Taking considerable care with each shot, Max negotiated a pretty tough rack to reach 96 on the run, and has good position on the break ball.

Shane leads by only 147 - 142.

Incidentally, the shot that brought Max out of his chair for this run was Shane missing on a real short and easy shot.

Tied at 147 now, Max still going.

The lead has changed. 156 - 147 Max.

The run is now 110, but his position on the break ball is not real good.

Max wound up taking 3 fouls rather than giving Shane a shot.

Shane leads 145 - 139 with Max doing an opening break.

Max scratched on his re-opening break shot

Shane played safe

Max fouled again attempting to play safe and left a shot open

Shane is running balls

Shane got through the rack and made the break shot on the next one.

159 - 137 after the last rack. What a reversal!

stream went down and came back choppy-adjusted something downward to keep stream up i guess.

choppiness now gone- who the hell knows with this techie stuff

Shane made it through the rack but doesn't have much of an angle on the break ball.

173 - 137 Shane.

Shane made 4 then missed a moderate-angle and moderate-length cut to his right. 177 - 137, Max should get the rest of this rack.

I couldn't believe it. Right before Shane missed, I was thinking that table layout could only have been easier if those three balls at the bottom were lined up with the others - almost every ball was in a line from the left side pocket down to the bottom right corner, like a drill... and he had the cueball in a great position.

Max got in some difficulty getting on a secondary break shot. He ran 7, then shot a cut down the rail on the 3-ball to open the pack. But he hung the 3-ball.

177 - 154 Shane.

Back. Shane finished the rack, but had an iffy break ball, down to head and back after pocketing the ball in the side. Hit rack lightly then played safe.

184 - 154 at end of last rack.
