Flawed Genius

"I am one of the greatest athletes America has ever produced whether the general public has acknowledged it or not. That's the way I feel. I was born in North Carolina. I am 52 years old. I grew up a farm boy, harvesting tobacco, soy beans, and cotton..." ~Earl Strickland #MosconiCupMVP

"You could put the same shot clock on everyone else and they would fold like a dirty wash rag". ~Earl Strickland

Many intriguing sig line possibilities throughout the documentary. :D

That had to be one of the best pool stories I've ever seen produced. Very, very well done. Love him or hate him It would be a shame if that doesn't somehow make it to american TV. If we could somehow get segments like that one produced and shown here it could revive pool in the US. ESPN should be ashamed they allow other countries to out class them.

I would love to see a movie based on his life!! I think it would be awesome!! I have heard so many stories about him. I mean the guy grew up a farm boy and became a world champion pool playing legend. I heard Billy Incardona say the first time he heard about Strickland he took Mike Sigel to gamble with Earl and the table was set up in a barn!!! Earl was only 18 years old and Sigel quit 1 set winner after 15 hours and said he would come back everyday and play Earl but he was tired. Earl said I aint gonna play anybody that quits me and I don't think he ever played him again. I think a story based on his life could make a great movie...It might take a while to find the right actor to portray him though:-)))))

He talks about his match with Sigel in the special. The story he tells about it is way cooler than that!

Thanks for sharing..I can't wait to hear the story..I heard that from an accu-stats match that Billy Incardona was doing commentary on..I would love to hear how Earl Remembers it....

Robert Downey Jr. Could probably play Earl the Pearl or maybe Edward Norton

If only someone recorded this and willing to post on youtube, I don't think the channel (sky sports) is going to do it.

I missed it, but didn't somebody mentino this would be aired at this year's Mosconi Cup?

I have a few media contacts that I have gained in recent times through my job. I'm not sure how many layers I would have to go through to get here, but THIS is where a brief journal documentary about Earl Strickland the American Pocket Billiard Champion could really get some traction ---> HERE

According to the link from the OP, it is playing again tonight at 9pm CDT, 80 minutes from now.
