any recommendations for a tight slip on extension? not scratching cue is #1( its for a southwest)

Timothy Soong sells them on AZ. They work very nice and won't scratch your butt. He ships it of Taiwan. It only takes about a week to get.

The best is a Tony Ryan .....either a 12" or 18" length comes in oak........fits snugly on your cue and
removal is easy .......no marking of the cue butt or sleeve.....the handle is shaped like a pool cue butt.

Ditto this. I have one of these from before I got my Pechauer screw-in extension. It's great, but get the 12". It'll be plenty of length, and it will be less awkward to carry around. I bought a small little jump-butt sleeve from Seyberts that straps to your case to put mine in. It works great.

I had a hagar and while I really liked the design and absolute protection for the cue butt, these always felt unnaturally large in the hand. (no jokes please)

I agree with Bava & Straightpool that the Tony Ryan is a great slip on extension and it feels similar to a cue butt in the hand. I have heard a couple of complaints from people who said the material inside the cup came loose on theirs but that has not been my experience with the 2 that I've had.

It will come loose if you twist it off. I think when you buy one there is some paperwork with it that tells you to pull it straight off.
