Slipping on non-carpeted floors

I seem to have an issue with slipping when playing on non-carpeted floors. Any advice (shoe recommendation or something else)?

Found this stuff:

There's also this stuff:

I had the same problem playing on the hardwood floors at Felt Billiards.
So I took about 6 pairs of sneakers there and found 2 pairs that grip like glue.
1 pair was Skechers and 1 was Tommy Hilfiger.
You have to experiment, the softer the rubber sole is the more grip it will have.

Any old boxing fan will remember when fighters wore leather soled boxing shoes and would step into the rosin box before the fight.
When a fighter went down and got up the ref would wipe his gloves on their shirt to remove any rosin.
Sometimes if the rosin failed they would score the soles with a knife or scissors.

If you are like most players playing on wooden or rubber-floored courts, a gum rubber sole is what you need. Otherwise, any rubber sole will do. Rubber soles are much harder than gum rubber, but they do not provide enough traction on rubber or wooden courts.

I was reffing a World Championship match at the Roosevelt Hotel in 1980. The ballroom floor was slippery. Frank McGown's solution was to spit on the floor where needed and rub it in with his toe. I think rubber soles would have been a better solution.

What I find odd is that bowling shoes have leather soles and often they stick too well to the wooden lanes. The fix for that was to put your fingers in the ash tray and rub the ashes on the bottom of your sliding foot. I wonder why bowling alleys are sticky and uncarpeted pool room floors are slippery? 🤔🤔

I like boat shoes for this problem, and also because I like boats. Sperry Gold Cup ASVs, Bill Fish, and Sea Kites have great gum rubber soles with siping. Also, you don't look like you are going to the squash court after your match.
