Slow play. I find fewer things more annoying in this world than players who play at a glacial pace. In fact, there are some players I refuse to match up with even though I know I will have the better of the deal. There sloooooow play makes playing pool a chore rather than a pleasure.:boring2:

Are there others out there who feel the same as I do?
 
Yeah, I think the majority of the pool community sees pool as a social function rather than a rigorous game. It's completely appropriate, and in fact encouraged, to find something to do other than completing an easy shot at the table. I usually order a drink between shots, especially when I'm on the last two balls.

Nothing takes me out of my game more than a sloooooow player who shoots well. Hmmmm.....let me take that back.
Nothing takes me out of my game more than a sloooooow player who shoots well and then when he/she finally misses, unintentionally leaves me impossibly hooked.
This kind of player makes me want to quit the match, sell all of my equipment and go off to a nice quiet place in the woods to contemplate what just happened and then blow my head off with a shotgun :banghead:

So what kind of meth do you prefer? Home-made, or from the cook down the street? Personally, I make my own and then I'm all like drulofghbvzdflkugndfzk;jghsdNBgkjlserhgkjdf bnfdzjkl gnsdfgkljsdfnglksdfgnsdrfkg nrsdfklgnsdfkgljndfklzknflcbcf and people just can't keep up.
 
I can deal with slow play better than someone who flies around the table , moving object balls every other shot by accident?
Walking in and out of your line of sight to get a better view of what is going on.
Constantly jabbering about the same story all day long to whoever will listen or at least sit there and seem to listen.
Both types should be dealt with swiftly and surely, unfortuneately, it's illegal to decapitate them publicly, with a dull Swiss Army knife.
 
It seems like there are a lot of slow players these days, and it is annoying.
Especially when we're just practicing.
What the **** are people looking at when they get up 5-times, or stoke the cue 18-times on one easy shot?
I used to just sit back calmly and wait, but slow play is making me nervous.
 
Action

I love to watch and bet good matches but one of the best players that is in action constantly here is tough to watch he is so slow. I could not imagine playing him again. He gave me the 5,7 and the break (yes I play that bad) in a tourney last year and when I missed I would go watch a half inning of the cards game waiting for him to run out the rack.
 
I was checking the real time scoring yesterday and all the matches were finished except one...nothing wong with that.

It use to get to me too, but playing Chess and lots of One Pocket has cured that!! Its a sure fix for the slow play blues! Just wake me up when its my shot!
 
It can get annoying when taken to extremes. Usually it's a move to get someone off their game.
The only time it really bothers me is when they are slow due to them being on their phone or playing the juke box or talking to their friends. That's annoying and a little disrespectful.

Yea, That texting after ever shot is out of control. There are two guys that I wont play anymore because they have to answer every text they get..., now its cool if this comes up from time to time, but no every time we play!

I played someone recently in a local tournament that took 30 minutes to run 2 and a half racks. By the time he got to hill, it was 30 min since u last shot.

I started texting 5 different people to stay awake.

My opponent is well known to "steal time" as his nickname states. It messed me up so bad that I just threw away my second match.

Slow pro players completely ruin attendance numbers (so do the promoters who allow it) and then they want to threaten boycotts and get rules changed so they can make more money when sadly it was the boring show that they put on that costs them money.
 
I once saw

a guy stroke the cue for 30 seconds for a straight in 6 inch shot into the sidepocket. It was worse than going to the dentist. You wanna tell them to get a friggin brain!!! How can they even think that slow???? lol

When they start texting is when I break down the cue. No way I'm playing with some A hole texting while playing. Some folks are addicted to phones like crack cocaine. It is totally insane.
