The first round of the SML Open has been updated on the brackets.

The 3rd and 4th brackets look tough with: Edwin Montal, Luc Salvas, Dennis Orcullo, Stan Tourangeau, Shane Van Boening, and Johnny Archer.
Our own forum member, Jason Robichaud will play Johnny Archer in the second round.

After browsing around, I have found a live webcam of the Oval. The camera is far away from the pool tables, but you can see when they are playing.

I see Orcollo is in the field. With everything I've heard of the guy, I'm looking forward to seeing him play in Vegas. Unfortunately, I don't think it will be in the pro event. I think he's playing in the Grand Master's event which is on the 7' tables (unless I read the player's list wrong).

Jimmy, where did you see this player list?

On the BCA's site. Honestly, I can't tell you how to get to the list because the site isn't the easiest to navigate, if I remember correctly.

That seems to be a list of the amateur events. I was curious about the Pro event.

My apologies, I thought you were interested in the list that shows Orcullo is playing in the Grand Masters 8-ball event.

Are you playing in the Pro event?

Thank a lot Tanner!!

Hopefully Alex can pull it off again!! Last year I was a little upset cause he had to miss our daughter's 1st birthday. I wasn't "as" upset after he won!! So this year, knowing he would miss her birthday AGAIN (the 15th), I told him to try and win it for her!!

I predicted on the other SML thread that it would be an Orcollo/Pagulayan final. Looks like it may shape out that way.

Phoebe, I've been trying to get this info for the longest time, but do Alex and Dennis get along? I've been trying to hype up the Orcollo/Pagulayan rivalry. :p BTW, happy birthday to your daughter!! :D

Honestly jsp, I'm not sure. I think they get along fine, when not gambling against each other. They had to team up together in the SEA Games, and Alex has never said anything bad about him ever to me.

I just know that there is a gambling rivalry between the two of them. Alex did beat him the last time they played, but before that for some reason Alex said "he just got my number I think. Can't beat the guy."

Alex said the sets would always come down to te wire, like only a difference of one or two games, and Dennis would prevail. But since the last time Alex won, they haven't gambled since.

But, you know all the pinoys, they all get along..........for the most part:o

BTW, although Alex being in the finals and winning is what I'm rooting for, by no means are the other two guys (Johnny and Edwin) walk-overs.

ANY of the last four can't be ruled out by no means.

In this tournament, the best really came out on top. Luc, Shane, Eric, and Jason are all up there too. Maybe with a little bit more seasoning the three young ones (Eric, Shane, and Jason) will come into their prime soon. I watched all three play before and.....it's scary how good they are!! LOL

Phoebe,

Any how about yourself?

You were awesome before you quit...any plan of getting back on the WPBA?

Richard

Yes, of course!

I don't think I'll ever give it up. Plain and simple: It's in my blood, dreams, thoughts, etc. It's makes me happy!!

I hope to get back into form soon. I would hope to get back to the same level I was playing at, and even further too! I still want to compete and even try playing international tournaments too. I was hoping maybe getting back into it sometime next year. But, hard to plan ahead when you have children...lol

It's a sacrafice I GLADLY make for my children AND Alex....lol.....for now:D
