Smoky Mtn Shootout Updates

Heya Matt,

Not sure who'all will be back tomorrow but was a great day of watching matches today. Got to watch Shannon Daultons match and was trying to study his routes. I was pretty close on a Fe of them but he threw me some real suprises. Guess that's why he us a world champion and I am not (grin.)

Got to meet Mike Gulassey and Steve Lomax. I was starstruck a bit but did manage to form words (I think.). Steve sold out of all his jumps before he got here, so guess I have no choice but to get on his waiting list.

Was a fun day. I'm signed up to play next year. Can't wait to se the matches tomorrow.

I may ride up in the morning . The jump cue you get from Steve will be well worth the wait.In case I don't make it or decide to stay here maybe someone will give us a few up dates here as well.If I go I can update from my phone.

Daniel lost to Larry, then lost to Josh Roberts, then Josh beat Shannon. Larry beat Rabon and then lost to Jared. Rabon then beat Brian White. When I left I think the 3 left in it were Larry Nevel, Josh Roberts, and Jared MgGee. Unless Scott Rabon made a great comeback on Josh.

Josh beat me then Landon then Shannon. Landon had him 5-1.... then scratched....then watched.

Shannon missed shape on a ball in the first game, had to kick , and lost the game. Josh then proceeded to break and run the next 6, 7-0.....

Josh is on fire.
 
As usual, great tourny, 128 players, quite a few well known names. Had a great time as always.
 
I just talked to Lomax, Larry won.

Josh ended up beating Rabon, then Josh played Larry. Larry broke and ran out the set, 7-0, thanks for playing.....:cool: LOL, Shannon asked Josh how it felt since Josh had just done it to him the set before. Bar table pool is brutal when guys can actually play.:o

Larry then beat Jared like 9-2 in the first set of the finals then 7-4 in the second set.

I did the same thing last year, made the final 8 on the winner side, then ran into guys that can play this game just a little better than me.....:embarrassed2: Top 10 2 yrs in a row ain't too bad for a hack like me though.

Hey, at least I can say the only two guys that beat me placed 1st and 3rd.:cool:
