Snapped off a local tourney last night :)

I won a 9 ball tournament at Main Street Billiards last night in Mesa, Arizona. It was a 7(rating) and under. Rece to handicap minus 3. I went undefeated through the whole thing. It felt really good. The thing that felt the best was I was able to close out my matches when I had the chance to. I have been working hard on my mental game lately and it paid off last night. Instead of attempting a shot that was makeable but not smart I played the safe and smart.

Matches went like this - 4-2, 4-1, 4-1, 4-1, finals 4-0

By the way I LOVE MY NEW SCHON! I just got it last Wednesday and a couple more wins it will be paid off :)

I would also like to thank BigCat (Ray) and CocoboloCowboy for the tips and pointers you gave me over the last few weeks. I cannot leave out Scott Lee either. I got a lesson from him a couple months ago that has helped me as well. He thought me a number of things - most importantly (to me anyways) is to finish my stroke.

9 ball - race to handicap minus 3. I knew I forgot to put something in there. :)

whats the lowest handicap you can be?
I have never seen anyone lower than a 5 in all my years of playing pool here in Arizona. I am sure they are out there I just don't think they play tourneys. At this particular pool hall there is no minimum race so a 5 goes to 2. One mistake and they are on the hill. Those are actually some of the tougher matches - mentally.

Thats crazy, especially for 9 ball, anyone who can hit a ball can fluke the nine off the break.

Most places have a minimum race to 3 and yes when they only go to 2 it is crazy. I have lost by "accident" to a couple of 5's over the years.

Brady and Fast Lenny are taking over the Arizona pool scene. Well done man, Especially in that format hcp -3 is tough and anyone can get lucky. You must have played consistantly well all night.

SANDBAGGER!

Congratulations. Handicapped tournaments are difficult to win however with those type of scores it may get a little more difficult for you in the future.

Enjoy the victory.

Maybe we need a new forum where everytime someone wins a game they can let us know.

Maybe we need a new forum where everytime someone is grumpy/jealous they can post it there instead.

I was thinking the same thing Joey. BVAL, you are going to end up a 10 if you are not careful. Then again Fast Lenny keeps doing well and he is still a 4 or something.

Not to interupt BVAL and his glory, did you AZ players se my thread on the press release on the Major in Phoenix?

According to google...

Define: Gapper

"Gapper was a computer game written to run under DOS in 1986."

Geez brady. Get the net.

Thanks Joey,
I have been trying my best to be raised to an 8 for the better part of 5 years. I thought I would get raised for sure at the last meeting but I guess my name never came up. I figured it would because I had won 4 tourneys over the last 3 months and got in the money a good number of times. I was told by a couple different people that I was going to be raised it just never happened. Hopefully at the next meeting I will get raised.
