First and foremost, that's some funny stuff above. Lol. Someone there might want to research professionalism IF this is true.
In my truly honest opinion, I think SPM is utilizing FB in the best way they can and that they have folks writing for them that have information that the entry level, intermediate as well as some but not as much for the higher level folks. That being said, if you are a higher level player, cuemaker, or whatever role you probably aren't their target audience (IMO) other than for business regarding ads.
Its reach is a lot more than you'd think though. The person that is on FB all of the time doesn't have to go anywhere to see what's going on. They CAN do it EASILY from their iPhone/Android phone without crashing while browsing (maybe my issue here lol). The content is open to comments of just about any type.
I was asked to take part in SPM, what I will say regarding that is what was asked to do for SPM, was not anything I am interested in spending my little valuable spare time doing.
First and foremost, I have a wife and kids, a full time career, as well as a business dealing cues and running tournaments.
I will say that if I were to spend my time elsewhere, it would be in a more developmental and proactive role with my knowledge and skills.
Overall, it's a positive venue for the Billiards industry that I think is flourishing with the younger/middle aged and entry-mid level player.
I have no clue regarding the experience of the administration of the page. If I were them I'd find a better method to fund small expenses related to the business and not necessarily keep such an open book, IF the things I've heard are the case. This is coming from a known brutally honest no filter kind of guy.
It's a newer page and publication that just needs a little fine tuning in short. Their reach is far in regards to their target audience.
PS- The FB pages are flourishing in regards to forums and I see more and more good folks there from here everyday. I've also seen less traffic in some parts of the forums here in return. Using FB does feel a bit easier at times and it is nice to see people in a less anonymous way. I use all and plan to continue that.
