Put on another Sniper today...this time on my Deano. OMG what a frustrating experience. No problem getting it on or delam issues. Lordy, lordy, what a soft tip at first. Cue ball wouldn't draw, wouldn't move! Took forever to get it settled down. Finally, after a bunch of play, it settled up a bit and now its playing like a Sniper should. Lesson for the Sniper ? Don't play money matches just after installation. Anyone find a way to work this out differently ?

After install, drop the shaft, tip down, onto the ground or tile about 200 times. Shape to a dime radius, chalk up, and proceed to put together a 6-pack!

I've taken one as soon as it was put on and shot just fine with it. Actually could draw better with it.
 
They work great for about 3 weeks.Then it is like they dry rott or something.Anyone else have this problem?
 
Mine just keeps getting better, as does the x shaft, I purchased a Kamaui Med soft thats going on the X shaft because I just want to try one, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the Sniper, it wasnt all that soft or lack english when it was new either.. Maybe because of the Shaft? because when the Sniper first came out I put one on a Players cue, and it did seem a little soft at first..

That's what I have heard many people do to all of their layered tips. It is especially good to do with Morri's
 
Wasn't it tiger that came on and commented about the immense amount of pressure applied to these tips during manufacture ?? Doesn't make a lot of sense.

all tips,,,, all the time,,, tell your installer.. squish it in the vice... squish it hard... then put it on my shaft...



it saves alot of time and alot of headaches....
 
After being dreadful yesterday, the dang thing held chaulk well this AM and hit wonderfully. Totally different tip than yesterday. I resorted, of course, to hitting the thing with a hammer a few times.

I am glad to hear the Sniper has settled in for you.

No matter the tip brand, as long as it's leather, there will be a break in period. Leather is an organic material and it moves. It will take a little time and effort for the material to settle in to the demands being placed on it.

I wholeheartedly agree. Never post up your dough in competition immediately after a tip install. At least knock some balls around with it for a couple hours to give the tip and you some time to adjust.
