Sniper vs Tiger soft

Ok, well today I recieved my 3 Tiger soft tips from BAMACUES :) Kudo's to BAMA for being a stand up guy! I did send you the $$ too lol. HONEST!

Now right now I am using a Sniper tip, but once I replace this tip, I'm wondering how it will compare to the Tiger Soft.

I know the Sniper is more of a Med-Hard that plays kinda like a med or soft tip. But what does the Tiger Soft compare too?

I've never used a SOFT tip. I had a Triangle that was pretty soft, but that was about it.

Most of the tips, that I have used are Med to Med-hard, Truimph, le-pro, Moori, Triangle, StingRay.

I am just wanting a heads up on how this tip plays, do it mushroom alot? hold chalk well? I sometimes, break with my cue, when playing 8ball, or 9ball on a 7ft table. So is that going to affect the tip alot? I havent had any probs with the Sniper tip at all, and I sometimes break with my playing cue too.

Anyways, just looking for honesty!

PS Bamacues is a good guy expecially for the deal he was giving on these layer'd tips!

Snipers feel harder than I thought they would but I like the feel it has...I recieved my Tiger S yesterday...When I get time I'm going to put it on something and see how it plays...

You have posed a very interesting question there for sure.

The Tiger (Soft) is the softest laminated cue tip in the world. This is a very high quality cow-hide cue tip (the only cowhide tip we make). Tons and tons of grip!!!

Because of the softness, it compresses quite a bit on contact with the cue ball, sending it (using English) offline far more than a Sniper. This is would not be a low deflection tip.

The Tiger (Soft) is not necessarily recommended for Pool (pocket billiards) play. More so for 3-cushion billiards because of the grip.

Something I have always wanted to try, but just never have, is this soaking/pressing method (MilkDud) using a Tiger Soft. The leather quality in this tip is far superior to any ElkMaster or Triangle cue tip.

Has anyone ever tried this?

When installed using the Sniper method & after a couple of weeks of play...the Tiger S feels harder than the Sniper.;)

Tiger Soft

I just installed a Tiger soft on my 314 Shaft--

The first thing I noticed was it had a different ping-ish sound to it when I hit the cue ball.

I am wondering if this is normal, or if it has something to do with how I installed it (pretty standard instructions I used on installation).

--->NOTE: I just read up online, and it may be small air pocket under the tip due to uneven bonding of the tip to the ferrule. Is this right? Is there just an air pocket under there?

How bout you guys, did your Tiger S (from Bamacues) have a different ping-sound to the hit?

The cue played just fine, I like the soft tip hit to other med-med hards. I was playing 8 ball today.

Trust me if you have an air pocket or bad glue bond it won't be a ping-like sound....

Tiger Products Soft is a GREAT tip, I used it as a replacement for Elk Master, long ago. And yes it has alot of grip, but I think there is less deflection than a Morri Soft, and much more action. I liked the Morri because of the Color, A white tip looks weird, so I use a permenant marker to color the sides. then Burnish.

I really dont know why Tiger Products keeps trying to re invent the wheel, ,the tiger products Soft is the best tip they offer. Ive used, Dynamite, Everest, SOFT and the Sniper, the Sniper will have a super smooth finish on the sides,if installed correctly, thats about the only + I could give it over the Soft. The dynamite kept delaminating, but a decent tip, Didnt care much for Everest, I do like the Sniper on my break cue.

I also got three Tiger soft tips from Bamacues, Thanks Joe and I put one of them on a Josey shaft with Gorilla glue clamped overnight which I read softens the hit somewhat over super glue. The thing seems hard to me and it does ping louder than the Tallisman Mediums I'm liking.--Leonard
