Snooker on a pool table?

So I played this at my pool-hall last night, same rules as snooker, going by the colors of the balls and not the numbers, and pretending maroon = brown, and orange = pink, and stripe = red.

CueTable Help

It's pretty fun. With only 6 reds it's a much shorter game than real snooker, and on a 9' table, the safety play is a little different because table-length shots are still high-percentage for good players. A maximum break would be 75 points. I had one break in the 30s and the guy I was playing had a 49. But we only played 3 racks, so I'm sure we would have seen a much bigger break if we'd played for longer.

Anyone else ever try snooker without a snooker table or snooker balls?

I've only tried pool on snooker table. This looks quite interesting, only 75 points, good for some motivation.

I've played golf on a 9-footer and found it too easy and not enjoyable. Based on that, I'm not sure that (modified) snooker on a pool table would be any fun. I would bet that there would be a lot of 75 point runs though...

I've played with snookerballs on pooltable. Ran centuries all the time, was quite fun! :D

Couldn't miss. Just aim that little ball south-south west and it will drop in the left corner ;)

Part of the appeal of Snooker, for a pool player at least, is the challlenge of playing with the smaller balls, different cloth, larger table, smaller pockets. Playing Snooker on a pool table is less appealing to me than playing pool on a bar table.
