What would be the correct layout for snooker on a 9 ft table?

Where would the balls spot?

There wouldn’t be a universal ‘correct’ layout.

Firstly are we talking snooker cut and 3,5”pockets or an American 9’ table.

If snooker pockets such as a 10’ Snooker, Chinese 8 ball table, possibly Russian Pyramid, Brazil Sinuca...Etc, then I would Use the same distance from End rails as on a 12 foot using World Snooker rules. Otherwise, any ‘tighter’ and potting angles become too difficult.

If playing on a 9 foot American table then I would spot the colours closer to end rails to add some Challenge...especially the black. Spotting the blue becomes problematic as it changes the whole strategy of the game. A half descent playing would just keep returning centre table and sinking it a short distance into the side pockets.

I think the game would be fun. It's the high runs in Snooker that make it fun. You can buy Balls for a Pool Table , with Snooker Colors. We used to Play "6 Ball Wild" to add some interest. I seen a man run 30 pots & post 180 points... on his next turn at the table, shot, He ran out...

Yes would be fun. However, I’d spot the blue 8 inches or so above the brown...not in the middle. I’m good but not the greatest snooker player but Still not likely to miss a center blue into basketball size American pockets on a smaller table. The shot would rarely be be more than a couple feet and then respoted.

An alternative would be not to respot the blue once it’s potted once. Then more up and down table action.

We all have our druthers... I was really thinking 9 Foot Table, 2 1/4 size balls, maybe 4 1/2-5/8 corners...

It' s just a gaffe game for fun...
