Does anyone know if the 6x12 at Big Tyme Billiards in Spring,TX is set up to play snooker, or is it a golf table?

Either drsnooker or mnorwood should be able to answer that one for you. Why not give Big Tyme a call?

Open 24 hours!

Good morning Rethunk,..ya I thought about calling them, but sometimes its hard to find out how a snooker table plays snooker from a pool players opinion, I did see a video this morning of the place and found out it has Simonis on it :(

Yep, mnorwood has a video on his youtube channel of his visit there.
It's a regulation snooker table, but with simonis on it. They have the numbered 2 1/8" American snooker balls, rather than the 2 1/16" regulation size.

You should check out the new Champions Snooker! They'll have three tables, all with strachan 6811 gold tournament, aramith tournament champion balls and all the bridges.

The one downside of the new place is that it is smoking, which means the baize will get slow pretty quickly. But beggars can't be choosers!

Hey whats up doc, ya I think I'll check out Champions, it sounds like a good place to play I 'should be back in Houston in 2-3 weeks, I have waiting for me at my house 3 Talisman soft tips that I'm gonna try, never used layered before on snook so I'm anxious to find out what they feel like, plus the last time I was home I oiled my cue, I'm gonna score the top layer of the oil so theres room for more oil to penetrate and coat it repeatedly for 2 more days, then wax it in and hello ready frame on:) I'm in PA now and no good tables anywhere close by.

I went to Talisman tips a year or two ago. Luv them!
The first one delaminated, probably because I was still wetting it, like you do with an elk master. (a habit I have now broken) The second one has been on for over a year and hasn't changed shape or worn down much if at all.
I don't think they are as soft as the elk master tips though...

Yes that is one of my concerns, that even the layered soft will be to hard ( for my preference ) still i cant wait, its burning a hole in my pocket. But with all the new oil sealed in the ash it should it should concentrate the energy wonderfully:)

Bring your own set of balls for that table. It has simonis and plays really fast with the American sized balls. Haven't been to champions since they put in all the tables but will hopefully next weekend and I will post videos.
