So has the recent fall in Gas Prices increased your Pool playing.

Gas prices have fallen almost 70-80 CENT/Gallon in the Valley, but surprisingly I have not seen a surge in tournament players in the few places I go to play.

One Pool league operator I see regularly is still trying to fill team, and keep asking if i want to play league this season.

We got nice cue,m and case in the wanted for sale section of the forum that are sitting without being sold.

I think people are still in a fear factor, and not going out as much, or doing much of anything but staying home for the most part.

I know my neighbor son who sell bar supplies is still complaining about business being off up to 50% at some of his customers.

We were out of town about a week fishing in the Eastern Sierra, and one motel operator told us of a new word in the American language, being stay-cation, being people are just not traveling, and they said this was the worst August for business in the years they own the place.

Reno, Tahoe, and Laughlin all seem slow when we stay a night in them.

The Co-Manager at our local Wal-Mart told me yesterday the [/i]shrinkage business[/i] is up like 24% in the Valley Wal-Mart's, as shoplifting is on the rise. Guess the Cops, Jails, and Courts have booming business.

housing price have not recovered in the Valley, and armadas of home are still being foreclosed on.

Sure wish the economy would turn around for everyone sake.

IT SURE HAS!!!

I find that now I can't afford to take my boat out on weekends now that gas is 217 percent higher than when I bought my boat I stay home and play pool more.

You know what's going to happen... George B. is going to come out and say "See, I told you that in my administration that we would find more fuel efficient vehicals". Totally missing the point that because consumers were no longer buying SUV's (unless you are a real estate agent and get a tax break for them) because no one could afford the gas for them.

Thanks GB for improving my pool game also...

Yes

It has made me want to go play more often. I have to drive either 13 miles or 20 miles to go play where I normally do. Mostly anymore though, I just go play on the weekends, Friday and/or Saturday nights.

No. I have been playing the same amount of pool the entire time gas prices have been up high so the recent decline hasn't effected me much.

High gas prices has not really affected my pool playing, because my cue runs on wind power, not gasoline!

It should do, since almost "everyone" here has complained about gas prices the last year, and that the high prices are the reason why poolrooms are shut down, no people enter tournaments etc....

I have been playing more...at home. I have golfed a lot less and played more pool this summer. I know my pool game has improved. Club championship is this weekend (if Hanna does not wash us away) so we will see how the golf game held up.

Gas pricing has not affected my driving or pool playing. I have been playing more lately.

I also play at home when not out and about.

Russ..

Gas Prices??!?!?!?! Don't get me started.

3.78 litres (how our fuel is measured) make up one US Gallon.

This equates to ?4.20 per gallon (rough equivalent $8.40) per gallon.

What is your gallon price - bet it don't even come close, we must be the most heavily taxed nation in the world!

Not one bit of negative change.

In fact, all the weekly tournaments numbers are UP from last month and UP from last year.
