So many cuemakers!

Does anyone have any views regarding Dayton v. Omen v. Klein v. Morris? There have been what appear to be nice cues from each of these cuemakers recently at reasonable prices. But, there are so many cuemakers out there, it's difficult to keep up.

Try one of each..........:) :)

Easier said than done, I know. I hear great things about all 4 cuemakers...and, oddly enough, I haven't owned any of 'em!! (once you get to know me a bit, you'll understand just how strange that is!! :) ).

I, personally, don't think you could go wrong with any of those that you mentioned....they all have great reputations, and I'm sure folks will chime in to testify to that fact.

Best of luck on whichever way you go.

Out of those...

Paul Dayton is supreme to those in my opinion...Bushwacker has a steal of a deal on a nice Dayton with 2 shafts right now!!!!

Depends on what you like. They're cues don't exactly play the same...

My buddy used to own a custom Ned Morris (which Bamacues is now selling at a steal of a price if you're interested!) and it played real nice. 3/8x10 pin, wood to wood, with IvorX ferrules and Tiger Everest tips is Ned's thing. Shaft wood is pretty good, too, I think, and my buddy's cue got lot'sa action...

But I've heard nothing but good things about all the others, too. Omen cues are said to play pretty stiff and solid, and I don't know much about Klein other than his cues are said to be priced right and play great (both of these are on my list of cues to try at VF). And pauly can tell you more about Dayton, as I am not thoroughly familiar with his work either...

But as previous posts mentioned: try 'em all, if you can! :)

i've only played with a dayton that was years ago but it was a great looking cue that played great too. i'm still thinking about ordering one. he used woods that really complimented eachother. it was a plane jane but it really cought my eye

I've got chance to try out cues from Dayton, Omen and Ned Morris. I'm playing with Omen now. :)

Dayton cues that i've tried are not that stiff in my opinion. It's more to firm but medium hit. I've tried a nice Dayton with old growth shaft. Nice hitting cue.

Ned Morries cue that i've tried is stiff. Maybe due to it's full splice constructions. But it's nice hitting cue too.

The reason i stick to my Omen is because i feel most confortable with it so far. It's a stiff hitting cue, but with some flexibility that allow me to run the cue ball easily.

Just my opinion.

as far as wood quality it is dayton hands down. for playability it will ALWAYS be influenced by personal opinion and feel.

Pete Ohman (OMEN) cues are awesome.. only have one of his break cues now, but my relative had a sweet ebony and pink ivory six pointer with a ivory joint that played lights out.... then he got a matching break cue made, and then decided he wanted to sell them and buy a cheaper cue, got this awesome deal on a philippi direct from rick at valley forge and hated every minute he owned the cue.. now he knows the mistake he made.. go for the omen!

My personal preference would be an Omen or a Klein with the Dayton a close third.

IMO an Omen plays and has a SW feel where as Klein and Daytons play a little softer.

You can't go wrong with any of those 3.

Never had a Morris so my not mentioning them is only because I don't know.

If anyone wants to custom a cue which is not too expensive you can PM me. You would only need to pay for the materials + the worksmanship which is usually around say $400 just to custom something up to your liking. BTW the cue maker is in philipines. He's one of the first cuemakers in the philipines. His name is bebot bautista. An unknown cuemaker which not many know. i currently have one of his cue and i'm using it. Hits great and have plenty of power. Let me know if you are interested as i'm promoting his cues.

Thanks to all who posted or sent me an email. There are obviously many highly regarded cuemakers out there with enthusiastic followings. Your thoughts are much appreciated.
