So what is your favorite pool tip?

Ferrari tires would not make any car drive better then standard tire?

put cheap tires on a 200mph car and see what happens.

not all tips are right for all cues, take some time to learn about pool, equipment, practice, give yourself every possible edge; because if your dont do that, some else is doing that and they will beat you,

best of luck.

Can you give an example of specific cue/tip combos?

Depends on the cue, not all tips work on all cues, the hardness or softness of a tip has to match the hit and feel of the cue, I knew about this for years, JA really taught me what to look/feel for. He sure was right, the right pairing of tip to cue makes a huge difference. Saying one tip is perfect for everything is like saying one kind of tire is all thats needed, sometimes you need soft compound slicks, other times you need hard tires, or nobby tired in the mud. It took me years to learn this.

Stiffer cue--->harder tip and vice versa right?

I just changed to the green emerald tip by tiger. One of the best tips I've played with. Low maintenance tip that doesn't mushroom.

Me too, I've been playing with them for a little over a week now and I like what I see so far. It seems a little harder than what I'm used to, but so far, so good. I just hope I don't have a problem with layers coming off.

I'm also thinking about getting some Elk Masters and Triangles and trying out different solutions to soak them in.

PS - IMHO, anything is better than a LePro. Too much hit and miss with them. You get good ones and bad ones. And they mushroom really bad.

I recently changed the tip on my player cue. I went with a Wizard medium. I wanted to try a layered tip but didn't want to invest a lot of bucks on it since I didn't know if I would like it or not. The old tip was a Le Pro that was so worn down I couldn't get much shape on it so I was starting to miscue and not get much spin on the cue ball.

I really like the new tip. I've played about 15 matches with it and I've got the spin back, plus a little more. First time I tried to draw the cue ball it went much farther than I expected. If feels to be the same hardness as the old Le Pro, which I liked.

I don't break with this cue and usually don't shoot hard unless I'm frustrated. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to try a layered tip but don't want to invest much money. I don't think they make a soft, just medium and hard.

I like the Kamui tan - not the black.
Tried a ton of tips w/i the last year or so & that just feels better to me.
For my cue, my style/stroke it just translates the engery better.
Thus, it feels better.
When I get a different shaft/cue maybe I would need to start that process all over.

Aramith medium. Hasn't glazed over like the mooris i used to play with. A little softer hit, holds chalk really well. Grips the ball very nicely. '

I mean they make the balls right...... lol

I've used talisman mediums on ivorene iv and aegis ii I believe and liked both combos. A hand picked lePro on a gasket (old meucci original) has been good for me. Triangle that came on my joss, needs to be cut off. Guess that tells you how I feel about them.

Mine is a Sniper. The first one I tried it the first time I could only think that maybe there is something even better so I tried a Moori and went back to Sniper. Then I tried Everest and went back to Sniper, Kamui black S and went back to Sniper and then Kamui black SS and went back to Sniper. All that time I was looking for a tip that was perfect for me and I had it all along.

I will admit that I have a Kamui tan medium in my drawer, but I won't be putting it on until I get my new cue finished and in my hands. I'm going to put it on my current player to try out unless my current Sniper needs to be changed before then.

This made me smile. It's the way I feel about Kamui Black S - it seems like every second tip I put on, I go back to it. Having said that, some of the others (e.g. Hirano S) I tried (and I've tried most) were quite good, and there are still ones I have not tried that I'm curious about, e.g. Moori V and Molavia.

Greetings from Switzerland, David.

Kamui period. Not even a tip close to it.

Why wouldn't you want the best that you can get?

Wish i would have tried it a long time ago.

Better late than never.

Tips are just like the cues they are attached to...

It all comes down to a matter of personal preference and feel. The best tip is the one feels best and works best for you, whether it's a Kamui, Moori, Tiger, etc., etc., etc... even if it's a LePro. ;)

The best tip I ever received was from my grandfather when he taught me how to play, he said, "stroke it, don't poke it!"

i just got a kamui black super soft put on my cue, i have only hit a rack or two with it. however i can already tell that its going to be the new weapon of choice for me. anyway back to testing the tip more:thumbup:

Kamui Black Soft

I absolutely love my Kamui black soft. I don't play much anymore but I made a cue for myself a few months back and decided to top it off with a Kamui and I was really impressed. I have put on most every brand out there and I think Kamui's while expensive are worth it. They have a great feel and don't require much if any maintenance. I just want to add that I am not compensated in anyway by Kamui, I just think their great.

I've seen players game's get better by going from a medium to a hard and from a hard to a medium and from a medium to a soft and from a soft to a medium.

Change can make a difference, too much change will cause an extreme reaction.

Best tip I ever got was to learn how to put my on tips on.. over the years I've probably saved $100. Never had a tip come off either.

I currently play with a Talisman Medium. Layered tip.
