Depends on the cue, not all tips work on all cues, the hardness or softness of a tip has to match the hit and feel of the cue, I knew about this for years, JA really taught me what to look/feel for. He sure was right, the right pairing of tip to cue makes a huge difference. Saying one tip is perfect for everything is like saying one kind of tire is all thats needed, sometimes you need soft compound slicks, other times you need hard tires, or nobby tired in the mud. It took me years to learn this.
