Good Times....

As promised earlier, here's a pic from last yr at the night club. I believe the name of the club is "ICE" but that could've changed since then. It's not uncommon for clubs like that to change names so we'll see. This was taken on Sat night.... the shorter guy in back sticking his head around is Shannon Daulton, the rest of the players in the pic should be noticeable.

I should be there the whole weekend. I won't have a booth but I'll be playing in the amateur tournament like last year. I really like this event, you always get to meet nice people and see interesting stuff.

Dandy reply:

I'll be downstairs, at two tables, taking on all challengers all day long. I will give the entire joint the 8 if I get the snap. I am easy to find, I am the only one with a black visor with a gold picture of the USA on it. Find that, you find the dandy dude, dude. That aint no woof woof either.
:D

Time and Date... Who's in?

The restaurant is at the same place the bar for the Raddison is. They also set out an array of free appetizers between 5 and 7 (I think). The name of the bar escapes me too.
Barbara ~ You should remember stuff like this, what's the name?

Again, I am willing to make the plans for the get together, but you guys have to tell me you're coming. So who's in and what time and date?

Okay Eydie,

On the Scanticon side is the Blue Grotto with the small bar and that's where the staff party is on Sunday nights. :)!

On the Radisson side there's Chumley's restaurant and that 24/7 restaurant called The Sunflower -- I think.

You want to meet up at Chumley's. They have a large bar area.

And don't forget those of us who are chained to the amateur tournament desk! ;)

Small concave live center. If you have one available at the show.

How does the Raddison Bar at 7:00Pm sound for a get together?

The bar at the Scanticon is smaller, so the Raddison would be better.

What do you all think?

Eydie

Eydie - is this still the plan on Saturday?

Eydie I'll try and make it Sat at 7:00. A lot depends on what my family has planned for that night. Otherwise I'm sure I'll bump into you some place at the show.

I look forward to meeting alot of you there. This is only going to be my second time there. I will just be hanging out....mostly at the Barnhart Cues booth.

Take care,
Sarah

Still not sure if I'm even going or not. If I do go, I'd like to take my Sweetie with me but not sure if we'd be up to it or not, because we have a LOT of stuff hitting us right now financially.

How much does it cost to go to the expo itself again? I looked at the website, but it didn't give any info. as to how much it costs to go to the itself! If she wants to go I might just do the one day think and head back home (only a two hour drive DC Metro area...) or go one day, stay the night and head back home the next.

Ever since I moved to DC in 2000 I've been to the expo except for the last two years I think. I'm really not hyped up to go like I've been in the past though. It'd be cool to go this year, but it'd only be to check out those cuemakers I knew nothing about and really look at their work. I'm starting to realize that there are some REALLY good cuemakers out there that don't ask for a lot for their cues.

Are you going to spectate/browse or are you going to play in anything? If you area cuemaker/reseller, going to have a booth?

I'm trying to see if I can work out a few logistics just to go and spectate, as well as meet a few people, but it's up in the air right now.

I'm sure it'll be an experience regardless!

Linda and I will be there from Fri. till Sun. Just there to browse and shoot the shit with some of of my long distance friends.

i'll be there all 4 days. you might catch me at the inside pool booth. i tend to hang out at the pit watching the action.i'll try to get to the saturday night thing at the radisson.

A one day pass to the Expo is $10. If you think you might want to stay overnight you'd better call now to get a room at the area hotels becuase that's going to be the hardest thing to do right now.

Good Luck!

Hey 1pRoscoe,
I will be looking forward to seeing you - ros, when? I am exhibiting my cues -John (Jack) Madden Custom Cues in the American Cuemakers Section - booth 48 on the upper level. All the cues are different- spliced points, recut points, veneered points, pointless, ebony, cocobolo, birdseye, tulipwood, olivewood, and koa forearms - inlays of ebony, koa, olivewood, moose antler, ivory, chaktekoe, purple heart, holly, spalted maple, turkish walnut, cocobolo, amboyna, and probably something I missed. For a one man shop it has been quite an experience to have so many different cues going with one due date. First time I will be at the Hopkins and will need to fly since the drive from the hay field in western Montana is about 2400 miles. Stop by and say hi if you all have time. I will have some pictures of the Montana mountain scenery - but no grizzlies - they move faster than you think and I have never been able to get the camera out in time.

I will be there. I am playing in the pro event. I made the plans late and I have to stay in some hotel near downtown. But it's ok. I have never been to Philly and figure I can do a little site seeing while I am there.
