Well, as of today the ticket windows were closed because the KOH event has been sold out. Who from AZbilliards will be attending the event? When there, be sure to find me and say hello.

Deno

I'll be there. Hopefully in VIP seats if they got my upgrade straightened out. Otherwise, General Admission. Only got billed $35.00 so far. Jake

I'm there.

Hi Deno. I'm coming and I'm really looking forward to it. I've been to many pro level events, but I've never been to one with this much pre-tourney anticipation. I'll make sure to say howdy. I'll be the one bugging everyone for their autograph. Seriously, this event is really gonna be cool. I'm most looking forward to the men vs. women matches in the round robin stages. Best of luck Alison, Karen, Gerda, Robin, Helena, Loree Jon, and Ewa. I'm rooting for the gals. I know that the matches will start at 10 a.m. each morning. Do you know what the earliest time is that we can enter the venue each morning?Cheers!

Deno,

I will be there (bought my tickets the morning they went on sale!)

Look forward to seeing you again and to an epic event.

How "Sold Out" but aint nobody going? Could be all the seats are taken by the Hall O Famers and the IPT 150 and the celebs getting appearance fees to go.

over 1000 seats for the tournament.

1000 seats, that was it? No wonder you sold out. I have put 300 people comfortably in a good size pool room tournament.

We are interested in quality, not quantity. If you saw the set for the tournament you would understand.

Don't try to say something positive to macguy you are wasting your time. He is one of the few who finds everything negative. You probably have about 80% of the poolplayers excited about the tour and supportive, 17 percent in the middle and then 2 to 3 percent who would love to see it a total failure, you would be wise to ignore the 2 or 3 percent who can only look at negative things (they are obvious because everything they say is bad news) and focus your attention on the 80% who are supportive.

I do understand, it is for the purpose of taping and you needed just enough audience to provide a background for the show much like the David Letterman show and others do, It is really just for the TV cameras. You can also move around a small audience and control them with direction and reaction ques like they use on most audience shows to create excitement. It's the right way to do it, I would do it the same way, It guarantees you getting what you want. If that is the case though I would not have used an auditorium but a studio set up for such a thing, it makes more sense. Maybe set up your own studio in the future with the perfect conditions for taping pool matches. Boom cameras like Jay Leno uses where you never see the cameras and get a feel you are actually in the audience. Also there is no need to travel since you are going to use such a small audience and it is not really meant to be a public event but a TV show, you could tape every event in the same location.

It sounds like you have it all figured out. Good luck with those events. I look forward to seeing them on TV as the exposure will certainly be positive for the game.

It's what KT himself has proposed, having his own venue for producing his pool shows. Don't you read what your boss writes and says in interviews? If it so idiotic maybe you should tell him how dumb it is since it is his idea before he makes the mistake. Yea, like you have anything to say about anything.

Ha Ha ha - then why haven't you or anyone else done it?

Back in the 90's. Maybe even the 80's, someone was talking about the business of football and how because of TV, and the money it generates for the teams through commercials, there was enough money to pay all the player's salaries twice before one fan was placed in a seat. So, TV is good.

Here the IPT is going to get TV coverage while pool in general in the past couldn't even get a writeup in the local paper.

T'is the season to be jolly. To be thankful we are still able to sit at a computer and type. And be able to go to a major pool event and see so many greats competing all in one place. Did anyone ever think this would happen in their lifetime?

I think all the scepticism is really based on pool TD's of the past and how they screwed the players.

What time does it start on Wednesday?

I can't wait to be in the peanut gallery. Remember that? Women had to order tickets when they started thinking about having a baby due to the eight year wait.

I was planning it, but have to do 'mom' things first, so have to plan to attend another one. Gabe called and told me some very exciting things coming up over next few days, which you're aware of. Awesome Deno (and Kevin!)!!

That is actually a mystery. Bob Meucci planed on doing exactly that several years ago using his own stable of players. Tape pool matches and edit it for TV that he would produce himself in a studio. It was a good idea then and it's a good idea now. Maybe produce instructional shows on pool such as you see on painting or gardening except it would be pool and sell sponsor time on it or put it on PBS like many of the shows do. Sell cues in an informiercial format much like Estaben does with the guitars within a contrived pool show that could be showing matches or interviews and instruction. Cable television today offers a whole host of ideas that were not able to be done in the past. Much more can be done beyond just tournaments that would promote pool. KT has the capability to do it and I would guess the know how. Even a sitcom about a pool room could be done. By the way, Taxi was originally in one of the early drafts set in a pool room. Pool can be brought into the main stream in many ways.
