Some one-pocket shots

The last couple of days I made these one-pocket shots.

The first one here I heard Marcus Chamat made, so I practised it a couple of times, then I made it 2 in a row

On this shot I got position on the wrong side. The cueball frozen to the rail, and the 2ball barely out of the rail. I banked it in and my opponent was shocked :) Then I showed the shot after the match for another player, and did it on the second try too!

Here's a variation of the standard 3-railer that I fired in recently. The cueball slowly creeps to the first rail and spurts to the position zone by the opponents pocket. Lots of spin still needed at the third rail for this one.

That would bring most opponents to their knees!

Here is another variation of 3-railer I found out myself (maybe people already used it before)

I had another great one-pocetshot today, but unfortunately followed by a terrible shot...

My opponent needed only 1 ball, and that was the nr 5 which was hanging in the jaws of his pocket. The pockets on this table are really tight, and because of the position of the cueball and the fact that the table isn't 100 % levelled on that pocket, I knew it would be really hard to scratch if I pocketed his ball. I finally decided to go all-in and banked the 3-ball to get better position for the 5, so I could scratch, and start with 2 balls frozen on the spot with my still needing 2 balls and him 1.

I fired in the bank, and was really proud, I got perfect position. Then I pocketed my opponents ball on the next shot, but I failed to scratch!!!

I hit it with follow, but I shot to soft so the cueball ended up in the jaws because it drove off... f*** &¤=¤#

But nice to make the bankshot anyway, pleased with that :)

Both nice shots. I learned to shoot the first one from about where your cue ball stopped, leaving the cue ball on the other side of the table. Guy almost dropped his cue.

If you're in a room that won't be damaged by flying cueballs, just elevate and pocket the 5-ball while launching whitey off the table. That can save you if you don't have a decent scratch angle sometimes. Nice bank though!

I think this is the correct shot unless you are about 50% to make the bank shot. Suppose you are 50% to make the bank, 30% to win with two balls on the spot needing both of them and 15% to win with two balls on the spot needing all three balls. Then the odds are equal for either choice -- bank or send the cue ball off the table -- assuming you are 100% to send the cue ball off the table. I don't know of any player who is 50% on the bank.

Shit, I have actually never thought of that shot as a legal way to get the balls spotted..... I guess I am still just a lousy beginner in one-pocket :mad:
