some random questions

I don't like a snooker cue for pool, but I have a pool cue with a tip smaller than what most of the turkeys here would recommend to you.:D

You ask about pool vs snooker.
Not a question you should ask on an American pool thread. :D

Fortunately, you sound as if you have an open mind and are willing to investigate the merits of various games.

I, personally, recommend you visit the AZB Snooker forum. :D

I will offer a few random questions:

1) Have you ever seen a capon with a cape on?

2) You can get a charge out of a great painting but can you get a charge out of a neutron?

3) Did Noah have flood insurance?

Snooker vs. pool in general: Snooker demands better fundamentals and straighter shooting,
but less cue ball movement (or at least less fancy cue ball movement).
I believe one player ...maybe darren appleton?... said that snooker doesn't require as much knowledge,
but I may be taking it out of context. I get the sense in snooker you're not doing
a ton of kicking, banking, railfirst shots, combos, etc. whereas all those things
come up in pool pretty often.
Agree. Easier to play safety in snooker and prevent other player from winning. Give other long shot or against cushion and it is almost certain it cannot pot it. The arsenal of skills is fewer in snooker. My guess is if an A player in snooker plays A player in 9 ball in both snooker and 9 ball, the 9 ball A player will beat the snooker A player by a bigger margin than the snooker A player winning margin in snooker. That is provided also that the snooker A player is newbie to 9 ball and the 9ball A player is newbie to snooker.

Correct correct.

Scaramouche...There are always exceptions to the rule. For example, my high run in snooker is 122. It was accomplished with a pool cue with a 14mm tip. If you can play, you can play with anything. Why would you have someone go to the snooker forum for instructional advice about pool? I thought that was what the Ask An Instructor forum was for...
