Something to think about...

Cue Guru

So I had a thought this morning. I know, it is a RARE occurrence, but once in a while a synapse fires...

Anyway, I was thinking about the game of pool, and how the global market place may have had an impact upon it.

So my question/thought is: how do you think the game would be affected if there were no 'import' cues (and by that I mean sub-$100.00 cues)? Do you think there would be fewer players, fewer 'above average' players (because any player can afford a decent cue at just about any price point these days)?

Do you think the game would be 'different' (good or bad) if these low cost cue options were not available?

"Back in the day" a 'custom' cue was a serious undertaking (financially) and there were few makers at all, let alone what are now considered the cream of the crop today (Gus, George, Burton etc.). But look forward 25+ years from NOW, and realize all the great custom makers available... That seems significant as well don't you think?

Just thinking out loud, but thought I'd just post it up here to see what others think on these random thoughts...

I doubt that there would be much difference. Those same folks that would only spend $29.95 for a cue at WalMart would use a house cue.
