I heard Ralph looked at the Cue Ball last when he plays nine ball, if so, could he take his game to the nextlevel if he looked at the object ball last, humm, do you think it would be worth a try, Efren looks at the object ball last, doesn't he?

your information is incorrect. I have Souquet on many accustat tapes and he looks at the object ball last on every shot .

I asked Ralf about this and he stated that he looks at the cue ball for a second the moment he pulls the trigger, then eyes move back to object ball.

what "next level" could souqet reach?????

different strokes for different folks........efren also uses a pump stroke.....do you think this will take souqet to the "next level" as well????

When considering the career of the only player in history to have won all of the US Open 9-ball, the US Open Straight Pool, the Derby City Classic, the BCA Open, the World Pool Championship, the International Challenge of Champions, and the World Pool Masters, "What might have been?" is really not a question particularly worth considering.

Surely you can't be serious.

you're implying that looking at the cb last is wrong. it is right for souquet, and maybe looking at the ob last would deteriorate his game. it is the only way he sees his game.

a friend of mine did some slow motion tests that affirmed that most player do, in fact, look at the cb last. it is a split second and almost imperceptable. i have not seen his tapes.

He's also got a long list of european titles in 8-ball, 9-ball and 14.1.

But tell me sjm, if we took the 14.1 out of the list you gave, has anyone else won all those titles?

I guess with limited co-winners of the World Pool Masters and Challenge of Champions, it's not too hard to back check.

Souquet reaching the next level???
isnt he already at the pinnacle, pretty much?

reminds me of what Ronald Reagan said when a reporter was asking him about the fact that he was only a 'C' student in college. his response was:

"Well, yeah, if i would have studied a little more there is no telling what i might have accomplished in life!"

Heh, I am just as serious. I think looking at the cue ball last can be detrimental to your ability to reach your pennacle.

I asked McCready the question on his forum and got ignored :D . Maybe he thought as you do smj.

Try telling Scott Lee this.

Earl the Pearl looks at the cue ball last and his form is so oddball it is a wonder he can make a ball, except for his stroke which is phenominal.

The only reason I can say this is personal: For my first two years in pool I used to look at the cue ball last. What a friggin mistake. After I switched to watching the object ball last, my game drastically improved.

Just ask the question, do you know of anybody who switched from watching the object ball last to the cue ball last who GOT BETTER? I'll bet you you cannot name anyone and you have seen thousands of more pool players than I have.

Is it any coincedence that the ONLY players who shoot better looking at the cue ball last have beautiful and accurate strokes?

JMHO :D

I, myself, look at the object ball last on most shots. However on long straight in shots, especially if I intend drawing the ball, I look at the cueball last. For years I've had trouble making long straight in balls as my eyes don't center the cue on the cueball where I think is center and I've put on so much weight over the years that my stroke has really deteariated as my arm has to go around me instead of straight as it used to. By looking at the cueball last I make sure I am hitting the cueball exactly where intended so as not to impart any side that will squirt the cueball missing the straight in shot. I have had great luck doing it this way. I just bought one of those Joe Tucker doo dads that is supposed to retrain your eyes for hitting center ball as many people supposedly have the same problem as I. I haven't had time to try it yet but if it works I'll be tickled to death. Look on his web-site sometime at his film clips of him hitting center ball and you will be amazed.
