Hello..Is there anyone here thats close to being called by Laurie for a SW cue that is interested in giving up one of their spots? I heard you're entitled to 2 cues per year. I would gladly pay $500 just so i can have a cue from SW to my own specs.

How does it work?
- Well, if you're interested in this deal let me know and i will fill you up on the details.

Thank you,
Arbey

Arbey, goodluck on your search..i'm sure someone there will give their spots to you....is it possible to call Laurie and ask her the customer that are due this year then ask her to contact those customer to let them know that you are looking for a spot? .then if the customer agreed then she will call you to call the customer.....give a try ..just my suggestion only

Thanks Jun, and nope Laurie will not transfer ownership to someone else. If someone gave up their spot then she will just go on the next one in line. If someone here is interested in my offer..."they" would have to call Laurie and order the cue with my specifications. And i will simply add $500 to the total amount of the cost of the cue.

Dude no one in there right mind would give up the spot for 500 bucks being they probally sell it for a grand more than they payed for it when they get it just my 2 cents.

That's right. The price for a 6 pts SW in 1999 is around $1200~$1500. Right now you can easily get $2500 ~$3000 for an ebony nosed SW.

i thought the new cues were going to be sold by SW at market value.

As far as I know the price Laurie gives you at the time of the order is a locked in price. If the price was 1200 when you ordered and the market is 5,000 now you still only pay 1200. That's the way I understand it.

To the original poster, dude, you are a day late and a dollar short. Someone offered me their spot about 2 months ago and I turned it down. I would have gladly sent them on to you. It's gone already though.

You can't find one out in the market that fits your specs? What are you looking for?

Mully..for real? damn i missed it. Oh well...The specs im looking for is Gabon Ebony nose SW with 6 Tulipwood points.. 3 veneers, White, blue, white...Tulipwood buttsleeve with 1/2 inch in ebony... deluxe rings (tulipwood) with veneers..A,B,C,D,E ..black phenolic buttsleeve and joint...custom joint protectors and Ivory ferrules. A very similar cue that is on the Cuesnthings website. And i already know that this cue is going to cost more than $2000 from Laurie.
Why i want the same exact thing? Dont ask..i just fell inlove with it. ;)

With all do respect..If this thread doesnt concern you...or if you don't have something better to say that will actually resolve the issue at hand. Pls dont say it. I didnt ask for opinions. I simply ask whoever is involve or concern regarding the matter.

So..if youre not in Laurie's list and not going say something nice...I would prefer this thread to be open.

Thank you

Yeah, man, a friend contacted me about 2 months ago saying he had a spot he would give me for a SouthWest made to my specs and delivered around November this year. He knew I was looking for a South at the time. Unfortunately I didn't have the money for it so I had to pass. I ended up getting the South I was looking for through a trade. I traded a really nice Paul Mottey for it. Value wise the person I traded with got the better financial end of the deal *BUT* I had been searching high and low for that South for years so I didn't mind taking a little bit of a hit. I'm still 110% happy with that deal.

I'll put some feelers out for you to see if anyone has one like this. You never know what might turn up.

I'm led to believe that Laurie changed thier pricing policy, prices may not be locked in at the time of order. I received a email from Laurie a couple of days ago informing me that my turn is coming up in the next six months. She also stated that they raised the prices on thier cues. I'm assuming the price of my cue isn't locked in, I ordered the cue in 1999. I will call her later today.

You would be very lucky to pay the quoted price at the time of order. I have a buddy who ordered one with a quoted price and they jacked it up on him when his time came..

I asked her the same question a few weeks ago.. When you fill out the form to get on the list the prices are on it.. I asked if those prices would apply for me since I placed my order when those prices were posted.

She said she would quote me a price when the time came. So that's pretty much saying your going to pay our current prices rather than what they were when you got on the list/placed your order.

They are currently working on orders from 1999.. I placed my order in 2006.. I think waiting 8 years for a cue is pretty wild..

Anyone know the quanity they produce per year?

I suppose less than 100 cues being built last year (which is lower than that of previous years), evidenced by the 07-39X cue I saw in the market, I could be wrong but the actual number should be pretty much close to my guess

I just spoke with Laurie and she confirmed that she will be contacting me very soon to get my cue specs. They are currently finishing up the 1999 orders and I'm on the 2000 list.

I will sell my spot for $500.00 if anyone is interested.
