Southwest rings

Why is it so hard for Laurie to get the southwest rings to match up?

You mean at the different positions in the butt?

If so, they are made to 'line up' their certain way, which happens to not be all in the same alignment.

Lining up A rings would require re-facing the shafts, so they don't do it.
That's what I heard on TAR .

The bottom rings are kinda tough too b/c they thread the buttsleeve to the bottom of the handle. Most use a tenon and can spin the sleeve any way you want .

I believe they are lined up the way she wants them . The ones at the wrap area fall exactly in between the others . They are perfect . jim

A lot of cuemakers won't always face so their indexed trim rings perfectly align at the joint. Some will, you would need to request it. Over time and with wear, they can lose their perfect alignment anyway. Some cuemakers just chuckle at stuff like this....they say the players are over thinking things. Or they just do plain silver rings, lol.

And the wood threads wear out.

So they dont make an effort? These are high priced collectible cues. Lining up rings is easy for modest cue makers. Can we at least request the rings line up? Extra $$$$ ??

I don't understand why people love to b!tch about South West cues, they are what they are,if you don't like them move on and buy another cue, plenty other good ones out there.;)

That is a pet peeve of mine. When I get a custom cue made I ask to have all rings to match up exactly... Including the shafts.
