While I was at Jamies Midwest Cue show, I had one of the guys displaying cues had a old, Southwest shaft. He told me it was pretty old but didnt match up with any of his ringwork with his cues and wanted to sell it to me for $100.

Ivory ferrelle, moori tip, and full 13mm.

DAMN, this shaft is incredible! Maybe one of the the best shafts I have ever hit with. I stuck it on my predate Southwest and it was like magic in my hands.

Not sure what to do with it, other than just play with it. I am wondering if I should have a cuemaker change the ringwork to match a cue or just enjoy the shaft.

Unbelievable!

I picked up a Schon shaft from koinnkid a while back that is the same way, best shaft I have had for this cue. Could be the wizard tip, I don't know.

I wouldn't change anything, just keep it the way it is.

I agree with the other posters

When you find magic you don't mess with it. Play with it just like it is and treasure it.

More to the story....

The old Southwest cue I am using it on, I found out that it used to be owned by Jason Kirkwood.

It flat out plays.
