out of curiousity, you guys see many full ebony southwests ? think the only ones i have come across are with the pros from Taiwan .. they seem to have a preference for them...

Very nice cue. I've been desiring a solid ebony SW for along time.... I have only seen one in person. All I've got is a lousy six pointer.;)

Poor You... i feel for you ;)
lol ... have a great day...

Now THAT is a classy cue. Just more proof that less really can be more.

I wonder if the fact that they are more popular overseas is that the players there prefer heavier cues? That cue must weight right around 20 oz., right?

Beautiful collection. I second the thanks for sharing the pics!

When Jerry started out he built some exotic wood only cues. I had one for awhile that was purple heart forearm and butt sleeve - that was about 28-30 years ago

it's 20.1 .. i think they are preferred primarily because they suit the stroke style of the taiwanese players .. almost snooker-ish ... in the philippines they are not popular, there they mostly "flick" the shots...

I have played with southwest's that are very light as well but even those are more suited to perfect stroke play rather than extreme spin / english shots...

mine is 19 oz and has 13mm shaft with factory original ivory ferrules.

The secret behind mine is the 'thin butt taper' as Jerry called it

Its a PLAYER

My goal is to obtain a SW cue this year. I've put myself on a budget to possibly buy one by December.

Good luck Hal,hopefully your happy with a SW,have you played with one?I personally think they play good but are a bit overated,if i could buy any cue in the $2000 price range it would be a nice Scruggs or Searing.

I AGREE 110% on this one.. i shot with a Franklin predate southwest and it was a really solid cue.. but to me if felt dead. but then again they play different for everybody.. my advice is find somebody near you and hit a few balls with one first.. if your going to valley forge this shouldnt be a problem..
