He has not done anything on ebay since 2005. I would talk to him on the phone or have him take pics with cue and a piece of paper stating his user name. With photoshop though it can be hard to tell. Also like already stated the one shaft hurts.

Good point - that's a red flag.

Buying cues on ebay is extremely iffy these days - for instance, that Black Boar of Barkcinnamon's is now on ebay under an i.d. with perfect feedback.

This is where AZ'ers get confused, and I really don't understand why you all don't get it. Thieves like Barkcinnamon and Aaron Painter do NOT rip off everyone - if they did, they wouldn't get anyone's money. Instead, they treat some people very good and they can count on those people to give them great reviews and defend them here on AZ - after all, those folks want Aaron's and Bark's business. The big problem with a guy like Painpool is that he molests pool cues before selling them to legit buyers - the cues are then basically 'laundered' and move about freely as 'untampered'. Now, any time we see a cue with a leather wrap that doesn't belong with it, we have to wonder if the butt's been bored out, a sh*t refinish added, the joint messed with, etc.

Wilson is right in that we have to stop jumping so quickly on deals here (or on ebay), and instead do some research as the starter of this thread is doing. But when someone is outed for who they are, as has happened with Barkcinnamon and Painpool recently, they need to be removed quickly. Why is Aaron still lingering here?

Buy the cue and agree to only COD...no cue; no $$$ !!
Easy to weed out the scammers that way.

If I was the seller and you asked me to send the cue first, I would tell you get lost... JMO

If you think it's a scam, just don't buy it

Why did it take so long to get rid of him the first time? Why was a special thread posted giving him a "deadline" to make good on the deal when he ripped a guy off? I've never seen another member given this type of "special treatment" before, usually they just get banned. If I didn't know any better I would swear it was favoritism.
