Here is a cue I am working on right now. It has a Spalted Black Cherry forearm and butt sleeve from a tree I cut awhile back. Some nice burl came from the same tree which I will also make some cues from as well. Anyway the forearm is cored with purple heart and the material is stabilized. The rings are faux horn rings at the joint and butt plate. The rings at the handle are black phenolic. 3/8-10 pin and shaft will have matching ringwork. The handle is East Indian Rosewood.

Thanks for taking time to look,
Shawn

and yes I know there is a pink pencil on my desk......nice isn't it.....lol
Don't hate on my pink pencil.

Here are some pics with 1st seal on it...will get better ones once it is finished out and buffed.

Thanks Kim, appreciate the compliments and yeah I just can't keep a clean lathe. I am always working on something so it stays dirty lol. I clean it up now and then....lol

You sure are proud of that pink pencil,,,,,,,,,,,

LOL, nice cue.

LOL might as well be ...I knew I was gonna catch hell for it Frank. Thanks for the compliment lol.

You know the funny thing is, I briefly looked at this cue yesterday...never even saw the pencil...came back today to look at the cue again...saw the "pencil" comment...and now that's all I see in the pics! :embarrassed2:

I do like the colors in the cue...not so much the pencil...but definitely the cue!

Yeah I am not so fond of the pencil colors either.......I had no idea I had left it on the desk when I took the pics. So when I saw the pics...all I could notice is a bright pink pencil lol........but it was good for a laugh. Thanks for the comments as well.

I am posting some updated pics as well below this post.

All the cue needs now is the shaft finished out and for the finish to be applied on the cue.

I like the insignia in the handle...also, what are the rings made of??? I know they'll be clearer after the final coat, but I'm curious...they stand out a little better than in the first pics...errr....maybe it's just that there's no pencil in the second group! (You didn't think that was really going to be dropped yet, did you? :p )

I agree, the logo is great looking on the handle,,,,,,,,,,maybe you should put it on the pencil as well,,,,,,,,,:grin-square::grin-square::grin-square:

Oh' everyone brought jokes today I see....lol. It's okay I know you guys are loving that bright pink pencil.

Jam the rings are a faux horn material that comes in rod form. It's machines kind of like juma in strings. It has a green, black, and white mix of colors and does stand out better when clear is applied.

Appreciate the comments on the logo sig.

Here's a sneak peek of Shawn's new work bench:

That's it...I'll let it go now!

Thanks Jim, and yeah Kim your right. I guess it is always best to look at the positive to any situation lol

Thanks for everyone taking time to look at this cue. The cue has been sold, and I will still post pics once it is finished up for the customer.
