just bought some SPI digital calipers at Enco for $49.95.they came it today and the are nice.not quite as smooth as my Mitos,but every bit as accurate and half the money.pretty good buy if anyone is looking.i also got the SPI keyless chuck Albrecht knock-off and it is very sweet.it is on sale for about $100 right now.good stuff at great prices if anyone is looking.

Swiss Precision Instruments (SPI) used to be a very good off name brand. Alot of their stuff was made by Mitutoyo and B&S..... nowadays you are best to stick with their calipers and mics..... their indicators are a little suspect, quality wise they are along the lines of store brands like Travers etc. A good throwaway indicator for lathe setups, but not for benchwork. JMO.
