'splain me sompin'

I have executed a shot like this from corner-pocket to corner-pocket using Top like they are suggesting to force the cue back back into the rail and thus pocket the second ball... I think that shot is in one of the Robert Byrne books... But I've never seen it setup like how this card has it.

The only way the shot works as diagramed is if you are playing on a table that has 6" pockets..(perhaps even bigger)

The only way to make the shot using the 1 tip of top on my table is to elevate the but of my cue and make the CB jump off of the OB....land perfectly on the nose of the cushion so it shoots down table toward the corner pocket.

IF you set it up with some left angle....it is not a follow stroke...it is a "stun forward" stroke.....quite firmly struck...

Will try it tomorrow and put a video up... Got a new Flip for xmas and I wanted to try it out anyway.... Sadly only thing at the house is an 8 footer.....

Last fall, my wife purchased a deck of The Ultimate Pool Challenge Game™ game cards for my birthday.

Somebody explain to me how to pull off this shot as shown.

according to the card, a tip of top will carry the cue ball as shown. This is the one card in the deck that I've not been able to figure out.

Dump the game cards!!!
You stun the cueball with a touch of right if you like, but that's a feely thing depending on your stroke. You can see by the tangent line on the contact point that the line goes to the rail as diagramed without you having to put any top on the cueball. If you put even the slightest topspin you're apt to hit the titty.

EVEN WORSE, the diagram is all wrong:D:D:D. Not only is the contact point on the object ball wrong, the path of the tangent line is all screwed up!

a tip of high?
First of all, what's your definition of a tip?
Most people think it means 14mm (the size of a 14mm tip), but 1 tip of english is about the size of the circle on a red circle cue ball.
I think this shot is quite possible using 1 tip of high, if using the smaller tip measurement, but I'd use 1 tip high left or right depending on where I want the CB to go after hitting the secondary OB.

BTW: I stroke the shot very hard because I want the CB to skid off the primary OB. Shooting this shot with a soft or medium stroke will cause the CB to hit the rail too soon.

I believe you can also achieve the "2fer" shot using a tip of low with a medium to medium hard stroke.

Note: For this shot using a tip of high, the amount of angle between the CB and primary OB can have a huge impact on the CB trajectory. So, be very concise on setting up the shot. You want a very full hit on the primary OB.
