It seems to me that if we want sponsors for tournaments, and aren't getting them, we need to know why so maybe then something can get changed to attract them. We can speculate all we want to on here, but it doesn't mean anything. We need to find out what the corporations are looking for to promote pool.

They had qualifier tournaments ($20 entry each time) the few months before the tourney and if you finished first or second in a qualifier then you were in the tourney. Once you qualified you couldn't play any more qualifiers. The field was set at 64 and was a great time. Lori Jon Jones was there andwas very sweet. They gave away a very nice Olhausen pool table with Budweiser on the side of it some pool cues and lots of other prizes.

Well Budweiser is no long sponsoring the Busch series in NASCAR as of next year so that frees up about 35 million a year for advertising. Maybe it is time to hit em up again. Who knows.JAM said:That is GREAT to read!![]()
Camel cigarettes sponsored the Virginia State 9-Ball Championship a couple of years ago, which was also GREAT.
Budweiser at one time was going to invest monies into a national pool tour, but when the powers-that-be in the pool world entered into negotiations, they withdrew interest in sponsoring a NATIONAL tour.
