I thought this was neat so I figured I would post it. I did this on eat a local tournament. This is an "Impression" Stack wrap made by Tiger. Very cool stuff and a lot more difficult to work with. Both the customer and I were pleased with the results.

really looks great... I love the tiger stripe effect...

I've been thinking about have one done on my Blue Grass... not the same pattern of course but something fitting. I love the one that's Elian(sp) the guy from tiger, put on my madison bob a few years back. It has held up very well, still looks great, and feels fantastic!

nice work there.

Ryan, I think it looks kewl sir.....very nice...

I bought a couple of your cues a good while ago....they play solid, and they look even better....recently, I gave an old friend one for his birthday, he flat out loved it (have far too many cues and play far too little :D )

Keep up the good work and thanks for the pics....

I like it. Is there someplace I can see other examples? I can't find them on the Tiger site.

Not that I know of. This is the first one I have done, in this style. The "impression" wrap has been offered for quite a while but I only have so many square inches in the catalog so I haven't advertised it.

Can you please show a pic where we can see the seam of the wrap?

Thanks,

Flex

There is no "seam" on the stack wraps. It is a strip of leather wound around several times.

I've never felt a stack wrap....

Are there any techniques for a stack wrap to leave it very rough if desired, so the cue will not slip in the hand? Rougher than an unpressed linen wrap?

Not really. I had this problem with a fellow AZer. He wanted it left unfinished, which is an option. Tiger calls it "suede" finish, but it is still sanded relatively smooth, even more difficult if it is custom stained. I can make it tacky but not rough.
