I own a couple carom cues with metal joints!, is that so unusual. There are cue makers that have made carom cues with metal joints and still do. I believe the Willie Hoppe cue was made with a metal joint. I believe Longoni makes some models with metal joints, the "Silver Line 3Cushion Cue Model",[sells for about $4750.00]. ---------If you were to cover the the joint somehow so an average player would not know if it was a wood to wood joint, a synsethetic, or a metal joint I don't think he would notice any difference in performance. Correct me if i'm wrong, please! I have noticed that over time some wood to wood jointed cues have not held up as well as they should, perhaps from over tightening.

The debate about joint types will go on til the end of time. As far as, I know. No one has ever setup a "blind taste test" for carom cues. I say if it feel right for you, use it.

If you like the Cue with stainless steel joint, Just go to TrafficControl website and check out Layani Cues or maybe a Schuler!!!
