Those sticker spots that come off or worse yet, start to curl up. We curse the table because the shot we made rolled over that curled spot sticker and made our ball change direction. Next thing you know the spot sticker is torned off leaving an unslightly look on the table. Now if the pool table owner had a StampTheSpot, the ball would never unintentionally change directions and the customer would not be able to lift off the stamp on the table. StampTheSpot gives your table a clean and sharp look and since it is the first stamp designed to replace spot stickers, your customers will be talking about it to their fellow shooters.

Neat product, what type of ink does it use? Does it rub off if you put your hand over the spot? Especially when sweaty?

Not practical

The purpose of the spot is also to protect the table cloth from holes, since the head ball of the rack usually takes a lot of pounding and abuse of constant racks.

It's a water soluble ink. Once it's dry on the table it doesn't rub off on hands (sweaty or not). Even using a cleaning spray for the table, it won't smudge. Though the stamp will fade over time but restamping the spot is not an issue and even the writing is clear to see after a restamp. Thx :)

seen this in action. reinforcement is necessary for 8/9/10b, unless you like holes on the foot spot.

sticker or stamp isn't going to protect the table from people banging the front ball thinking it's going to give them a tighter rack.

This is not what does the damage. Really.

Cue ball is almost always not touching table at impact on a hard break, due to the impossibility of a perfectly level cue. This transfers force DOWNWARD into the head ball of the rack. Over time, this will always wear out the cloth under the head ball. Physical reinforcement (i.e. "stickers") protects the cloth from damage.

Sounds good, though I admit I never knew this. We always used a permanent marker to make the spot. Didn't need a special stamp, but couldn't stand the sticker. However, the idea of a sticker stopping a hole from being made sounds interesting. Clearly, neither me nor any of my friends has a hard enough break to worry about a hole in the cloth where the head ball goes.

I've been a pool table mechanic for 12+ yrs, the stick on spots do not prevent/stop damage to the cloth at the head spot, imo they are more problematic and a hassle then there worth, wear and tear on the cloth is an inevitable fact of the game and equipment, its the reason people like me are in business.

I was going to say. Lets cover someone in spots and pelt them with pool balls. See if it hurts or not  I mean putting a sticker on something does not protect it at all if it had anything to protect it it would stick off the table unless magical forces are involved....

I've seen table damage and racking problems because of the the idiots that tap the head ball with another ball
to keep it from moving, but I've never seen cloth damage because there is no spot.
When the spot starts curling up I pull them off.
I think the spot stamp is a terrific idea, but it may be too much thinking for some of the people who work in the pool rooms I go to.
