Stan Shuffett Training Session

I have decided to suspend my self-imposed "time out" from posting here to comment on the two day, 19 hour session I just took with Stan that included his Foundation Course and his BCA Recognized Instructor prep session...which I am proud to say that I passed!

Stan is a SUPER nice guy...a teacher by profession and is possessed of a MOUNTAIN of knowledge and experience in playing and teaching all of the major pool games.

I have been lucky enough to have studied with several world class and world champion players/instructors and won't get in to suggesting that one is any better than the other...but I can say, without hesitation, that some of what Stan teaches is unique and ALL of what he teaches is accomplished in a manner that is unsurpassed by any other instruction I have received.

While I was there, a friend called me who didn't know I was taking the session but when I told him where I was and what I was doing, he passed on to me that a mutual friend who is a TOP road player who you all know of, had recently trained with Stan and who reported to my friend that he had learned more in his session with Stan than from anyone else in his entire pool career.

And that from a VERY strong player who happened to have WON the very next tournament he entered after his session with Stan and who credited that win to him.

There is nothing that I can say from my lowly perspective that could come close to the above compliment paid to Stan from a young man who KNOWS what he is talking about...so I will conclude merely by saying that players of ANY level...including champions...would benefit, without question, from spending time with Stan.

Regards,
Jim

I too have been to Stan's. It was a good experience. I learned more there in two days than all the playing time of the last three years combined. Anyone that is serious about being a student of the game should spend some time with Stan. IMHO.

You hear the same thing over and over about Stan Shufett. There must be a lot of validity to what everyone continues to say about his school.

How about telling us about one thing that he taught that has improved your game the most.

Thanks,

I made an exception for what I considered to be an exceptionally good reason...and one that would be helpful to the AZ community.

But snippy, sniping little posts like yours is one of the reasons I don't care to post here.

But don't worry, further posts will be rare.

Absolutely. Stan's website is www.justcueit.com

After 40 years of pool I learned from Stan that I was compensating for being cross-dominant with a little curve/glitch in my stroke. I learned that if I got as directly over the cue as I could, and stayed down through my finish, that I neutralized the curve. More importantly, Stan gave me drills to continue to fix it and improve. It's totally up to me and how disciplined I am. My highest recommendation...Tom

I have had a couple of conversations over the last couple of days, one with Stevie Moore the Pro Player. Stan has a training tool. Do you know anything about that as I have heard it is awesome.

Jim, you've always made valuable posts on AZ. You should not allow other individuals to determine how or when you post.

You have a lot to offer this forum but I realize that it is an aggravation to have to fend off the snipers (sorry Tony) from the forum but I think some of them may only be trying to be humorous in a pool hall kind of way.

Here's hoping you will continue posting regularly.
