Standard Grip Size

Curious as to what the standard grip diameter is on a pool cue???

In the wrap area where you actually grip the cue???

What would be the min / max you have seen also...buy which cue maker???

Although I'm not a cuemaker, I'll share what I know on this subject.

The diameter of the grip area on my custom cue is 1.200", which I believe is fairly standard (or very close to it). FWIW, this cue is wrapless.

I have another wrapless cue or order... and on that one, I'm specifying a slightly lesser diameter of 1.100".

Players grip at different places. Do you mean IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HANDLE?...JER

I think the most common BUTTCAP size at the bottom is 1.250".

The grip handle area will vary if the cue has a single taper or dual/compound taper. Dual taper cues will have handles that are usually slim than single taper cues.
Check Ted Harris site. He explains dual taper cues there.

I build my standard cues more slender than most cue makers although on custom orders, of coarse, I build what the customer orders. My cues standard sizes are .842" at the joint, 1" at the front of the wrap, 1.150" at the rear of the wrap and 1.225" at the end of the butt cap.

In the old days, cues were very big in the butt section. Now a days, they are much smaller. I do not think there is a standard size. Build it to fit your ideas, needs, and go from there.
