Doh!
StanJames won't give us the money back that we won from the IPT event. They say they can't because of the new law and such, but they will be glad to give us the amount of money won into their poker site! YUCK!
My friend is talking to some customer service guy so hopefully something will be worked out.

Anyone else from the US having trouble claiming money?

What good does it do for them to deposit it for you on their poker site? If they can't pay you? Is the law different because it's poker? That would be the only way I could see that working. And if the law was going to change, why didn't they tell you before you placed the bet? I'm glad my credit card company won't let me use it to post bet's or log in the gambling sites. Sam

What better way to get us to play on their poker site, huh?

If you agree to play the money on their poker site, just wait a few days and then cash it all out. Don't donate it back to them.

AFAIK there are no NEW laws, just the same highly restrictive US laws on gambling that harken back to the good old days of Prohibition. The only difference is that at present the FBI have decided to actually enforce those laws being abused via the Internet.

The US are cracking down on it's citizen's gambling on foreign websites and recent high-profile arrests of executives from BetOnSports.com is making everyone in the industry extremely cautious at present.

Tanner, aren't you like 12? :D You shouldn't do any internet gambling until you're at least 14 or 15.

Actually, in todays St Louis paper there is a big article about the Federal Government trying to prosecute the biggest internet gambling site, Betsports.com (or something like that) because it is illegal to put money into an offshore account as people do & then gamble. The hearing is suppose to be taking place here in St. Louis. Something about wire fraud. I didn't read the article completely because I like to SEE the person I am gambling with so would never bet offshore. They have no extradition laws from the coutries like Antigua where these internet sites are located so the paper was inferring that the representatives from this Betsports might not even show up. I think the same will probably happen with Tanner's money---not show up, that is.

I got INSIDE First Hand information from a respected board member whose last name contains the name of a body part that Thorsten CANNOT play 8 BALL!!!

I bet him in the straight pool tourney and every other event he has been in but i laid off him in this one because of this terrific info. In fact i even bet against him in his matches. Thanks dude.:)

LOL, well thanks to nostroke I discovered that I had $110 in my account from last years WPC which I had completely forgot about. I had several accumulators before discovering the Heinz bets and then won abour $400.

However I decided to donate half of it back but still up although I almost stuck it all on Manalo in the final - thew! :D

I got 2 out of about 12 results correct in the last round, damn system let me down lol.
 
There is a new law that they are trying to pass in congress now..it will make using credit cards for online gambling illegal. They are trying to crack down on people who are gambling online in states where gambling is illegal..since most of the website for gambling are of shore sites.
