Stan's Perception Curtain Video - My Version

We all don't know how to hit shots close to the rail. Those are considered tougher than other shots because of the proximity to the rail.

I consider them easier because of their proximity to the rail. An old aiming trick even uses an imagined rail next to the OB to make aiming easier - it's an "arrow" pointing to the pocket.

What is laughable, is someone thinking their going to rob me shooting behind a curtain.

I hear bonus ball is to be replaced by curtain pool. It's an up and coming discipline in pool. Mother's around the country are grounding their children because they have stolen the curtains to take to the pool hall.

Might be a healthy challenge.

One thing that has always stuck with me is when I read that the great Walter Lindrum, whose father and brother were both champions before him, was only allowed to train with ONE ball during the first year of his training.

He was given the task of being able to lag that single ball to any spot on the table on demand before he was allowed a second ball.

Maybe doing things like putting up curtains to get people to focus on the balls more would not be that bad a thing.

Perhaps not. I always knew I should have gone into the curtain business.

I feel shots into blind pockets. .. It could be a curtain blocking it, the large waitress or a number of things force you to focus deeply on the two balls relationship. Something most take for granted. Regardless of systems involved it isn't easy. Even back cuts into blind pockets are more difficult because you can't see the pocket. You second guess yourself.

As a kid my dad made mmeshut my eyes before I got down to the cue ball and keep them shut throughout. It was to make sure I was approaching the shot consistently. At the time I didn't know this I thought he was just being a douche. It took me forever it seemed to be able to pot balls but in the end I was placing my bridge at the right spot and walking into the shot extremely consistently.
Nowadays it's nothing more than a party trick, but it did help at the time.

Curtains do force you to use the CB and OB to aim. If you have a tendency to 2nd guessing or steer, the curtains reveal it.

Last night I tried 4 long shots with a shallow angle using the ETA/CTE perception. I made 3 of them. Then I did the same thing again except this time I looked at the cue ball last and stroked straight through my shot line... missed them all.
