In Virginia, Sueyen Rhee has been making strides as of late, and she's a very dedicated player. The guys say she's "easy on the eyes," too!

In Maryland, Linda Haywood [Shea] used to be the BEST. Today, I can't think of any names of native Marylanders that come to mind.

Jam,
Linda Shea will always be a great player in my book and a good friend.
If you ever see her tell her I said hello & my # is still the same.

Christy is from Owensboro, Kentucky. Still, I can see why Indiana wants to claim her rights. She's one cool dude!

New York is the current home of four present WPBA touring pros, all of them transplants, but all here 3+ years.

Hofstatter - originally from Austria
Dokovic - originally from Yugoslavia
Barretta - originally from state of Pennsylvania
Schwartzreich/Ford - originally from Washington or Oregon, I think

Need six for my "New York Mosconi Cup" team. However, so I'll add:

Jean Balukas - born, raised, and living in Brooklyn, New York
Fran Crimi - bprn, raised, and living in Queens, New York

Thanks for the compliments SJM, Woody, and Diana!
Diana, it's good to see you here on AZ. Hope all is well with you!
There are 2 girls from Evansville, IN by the names of Allison Hardwick and her sister (sorry, can't remember her name), ages 15 and 17.
They both competed in the Junior Nationals this year and I was told that the 17 year-old won her division and the 15 year-old finished third. Two outstanding accomplishments for these young girls from the Hoosier state!

Yes I believe you're right.
Have you seen these girls play?

i was reading this thread and was thinking the hardwick sisters should get some mentioning here, i ran into them a few years ago, they were either 11 and 13 or 12 and 13 i think, we played a 3 way game of snooker and i won, then i played a couple of games with the younger one, her dad said she was the better of the 2, i lost 1 of the games, they both play really well, i think they were intimidated by the snooker table, was both impressed and amazed at their talent, i talked to their dad for awhile, seems like a really nice guy, said they got lessons from a guy in owensboro, and he said there really wasn't any 9 footers in evansville for them to play on because they are under 21, now theres a few places they can play in town, i ran into them in princeton, sad they had to drive 40 minutes or longer to play on a bigger table, i heard from a guy that had seen them out one time that the dad was really strict with them practicing, they have some results on here:

I talked to Gary Gentry over the weekend and he told me he has been working with them along with another guy in Owensboro by the name of Bobby Thompson.
I played both of the sisters a few years ago.....although at that time they hadn't been playing very long, I was very impressed!
I wish them much success.

I too run into the sisters, like you at that time I could see that if they stay with pool (they got game). I was impressed, being 11 to 13 yrs old.
We should add them to the list for young guns.
