Stay away, this is not a Custom Huebler.

Maybe the seller's $2500 is "inflation adjusted"

According to inflation calculator, $860 in 1984 would give you $2500 worth of spending power in 2013.

Thinking back, I guess my custom-ordered 60" McDermott D-26 with two shafts was a hellova bargain for $500 back in the day...

Guy is Lying out of his ass

I guess that makes the guy a liar for sure.
This is not the first time I've seen an Ebay cue seller tell a lie  about a cue.
One time I bought a full spliced cue on Ebay that was so warped...it wouldn't even roll on a pool table.
I contacted the seller, asked him why he would even put a cue like that in a box and ship it, his response was
"you can't blame a guy for trying"

As far as this cue is concerned I doubt it is a Huebler custom shop cue, but maybe poolcrazy / Terry can chime in.
Even if it is a custom shop Huebler the value isn't that high, and I've seen these Hueblers in the $350-$400 range.

As-h8 not a custom

Well heres what I know for a fact. It didn't make any difference to Paul, if you wanted it heavier, lighter , longer or shorter, Paul would build it however you wanted, and if he bought it when he said he did the logo would read Cue By Huebler Made in USA , and not have the logo it has that dates it a few years newer, the earliest it could have been made was JULY of 1993 and the price list I have for the cue in 1995 would have been 551.00 retail. Now with that said if he ordered it through someone other than Paul theres no telling how much paid for the cue. its his right to sell the cue for what he wants but he dosnt need to try and sugar coat the fact that its a Brochure cue.
Terry Bajorek
PS if you want to see the brochures and price list I would be more than happy to post it

If that's the ebay seller's definition of custom, then Seybert is also custom cue maker because you can specify weight and change the tip when you order.

I find this thread lol. It's custom because you ordered it a certain weight? I'll buy it for $150

FWIW, I asked about an LOA or bill of sale and this is what I got:

Q: Do you have an LOA or a bill of sale that would validate it as a Huebler custom? I ask because the cue pictured looks like a dead on match for production model AS-H8. Dec-07-13

Not "Cause it looks like"ue o

It matches the picture and description in the Blue Book exactly. It also matches the couple I have seen and held personally. Having bought, owned, and sold dozens of them (Huebler Cues), I have a good idea of what I am looking at. I AM NOT AN EXPERT THOUGH, and I am not saying that I am.

I would consider user bobalucinda (sp?) an expert. Im sure if Terry comes in, he will say the same thing. Those two are prob the most knowledgeable of forum members when it comes to Huebler Cues.

you are absolutely correct that the cue on ebay is not a Custom Shop. I have several Huebler Custom Shops.

Sounds like the guy did more than play pool for a living

Who cares what he says he paid or even actually paid for the cue?

Unless you're speculating, you shouldn't be bidding unless you know exactly what you're bidding on.

What some bozo did or didn't pay for a cue has no bearing on what it really is, what its really worth, or what you should be willing to spend to get it.
