On episode 2, the table Jennifer Barretta plays Mike dechaine on- what were the pocket sizes? the corners appeared to be 4 inch explaining the multiple misses by both players.

Does anyone know if they were playing on a modified rail table?

didn't they play on ginky's table? i doubt they are tighter than the average gold crown in steinway. i know the pockets always seemed to play large during the 14.1 tournament. i think it could have just been a case of having the players miss some shots for drama.

It looked like a different part of the pool hall and not the ginky table. I rewatched the scene and didn't see the ginky nameplate on the side like there was in the other matches. I could be wrong.

Since the match isn't real, its made for TV.......pocket size shouldn't matter.

You can still be curious. I thought the table looked very tight.

Ok, so it wasn't only me. You saw the same as I did. On two angles where the ten ball rolled into the pocket, definitely appeared there was not enough room for two balls in that pocket.

At sand castle billiards in Edison, nJ, they have a table that is modified with 3 1/2" corner pockets from what I remember. A player told me it's a big challenge table. Could it be the same at Steinway?

Regardless, the table dechaine and Barretta were playing on appeared different than the one Emily and Finnigan played on.

I didn't see it as completely made up that Dechaine could beat Jennifer 10-4. After getting beat on camera in the scotch doubles match from episode 1, Mike just imposed himself. what's made up about that?

And the reactions by Jennifer and her husband seemed pretty authentic of a couple who just lost a thousand dollars.

The table they played on is table 5 at Steinway. Second tightest table in the place. It's a hair over 4" pocket size. Table is rough if you're not in dead punch.

Thanks for the inside info, Mr. Frost. Congratulations on the series. It's an excellent vehicle for the sport.

I knew those pockets looked tough. I could see that table five/tight pockets being a key player in future matches as well. Was that part of the strategy for Jennifer to play Mike on table 5 to prevent him from massive run outs?

We need to get the measurements and plug them into Dr. Dave's TDF calculator for the list here:
