what gives here? steve davis keeps getting robbed. he is without a doubt one of the greatest cueists of our time, and yet, fails to win the world 9-ball championships in cardiff. i say, i hope he wins in 2004.

He can't get out of tough layouts, anything that requires a big stroke or multiple-rail positions is out of his comfort zone. Not to mention kicking, banking, even push-outs.

Celtic said:Davis gets by on a 9-ball table due to tremendous potting ability and a life long honed ability to play under extreme pressure from his snooker days. He does not have a great 9-ball game and still strokes the ball far too much like a snooker player, it is damn good but he will never win the worlds, he will likely never get to 6th again in his lifetime. His style is not suited to the game of 9-ball like it was for snooker.
Now if Ronnie ever took up 9-ball everyone might as well go home. That guys stroke has twice as much power and fluidity then anyone else on the snooker tour. His game and stroke would make the transision to 9-ball pool very easily and he would dominate virtually everyone. He is the only snooker player I think that could humble the pool world, but he is busy humbleing the snooker world atm so we are safe.
