Hello folks,
Here is an awesome Steve Klein. Steve Klein is one of the best kept secrets when it comes to make pool cues. Steve Klein cues play even better than what they look. Johnny Archer actually played with a Steve Klein for quite a while.
Just got it and it plays even better than it looks:

i am just curious why he didnt miter all the veneer corners in the butt? some are overlaped and some are not? doesnt take anything away from the cue i am just curious.

Not sure what do you mean since the cue is absolutelly flawless. It might be the reflex of the light in my camera. If you have any questions on this cue you can ask Mr. Steve Klein himself, his AZ user name is cutter

mitres

Beautiful pick up Benfica! I think that's one of the nicest Klein cues I've seen.

xpatcanx: I think it's just the angle of the pics. They look like they are all stepped mitres. Or whatever the technical 'non-mitred' term is for them.

i had a very close look again and i think it is the camera flash or angle,, for a second it looked like a half miltered box and half overlaped. just ignore me haha :o

Thanks for all the nice comments guys.
This is also 1 of 1 that Steve Klein did.
Not sure if you guys noticed on the pictured but the shafts are those Lake Michigan wood shafts. Absolutelly rock solid playing cue.

Looks to me like the boxes are recut inlays. Are they? As far as I know there are three ways to do the boxes, stacked, mitered, and recuts. The cue is solid in design and craftsmanship.

Nice.

Classic

This is my favorite design for a 4-point classic looking cue
Also knowing how Steve Klein cues play I'm sure it's a good one.
Thanks for sharing the pics of this fine looking cue

nice cue but dont see the tribute:

radial pin w/ pehenolic joint- nope
veneer colors-nope
notched diamond in points- yes
bushka ring- yes
croc wrap-nope
veneered windows in butt- nope
black delrin cap-nope

2 outta 7 =fail

NICE traditional styled cue though.

I guess you have not seen enough Balabushkas then, snce this cue tries to incorporate all the elements used by GB. Ofcourse that the radial pin was not of them.

I must not have- show me a Bushka w/ any of these features-

black phenolic joint
Blue veneer
Croc wrap
Veneer windows in butt
Black delrin butt cap

Calling out Tikkler, Joe V and Marcus. (please prove me wrong) and I'll STFU

BUT still a nice cue!

I understand that this is Steve Klein cue is not a Balabushka, but it is a tribute cue not a copy. The cue incorporates elements used by George Balabushka, that is all.
Here is a picture of a Balabushka from classiccues.com with a black butcap.

While they were not common, George did use blue veneers in some cues.

Here's one of my favorite Bushka's of all time. This is from Fatboy's collection. Notice the blue veneer second from the inside...

Here's another example of the blue veneer, in a less flashy pair of cues.

These cues were made by George for 2 brothers. The brown and blue are reversed in the points.
